1987 Turbo Cup, raced untill the 1990 Season in France (so 1990 specs).
1160 Kgs without fuel, or about 2550 lbs. as per the rules.
Mine is a little less after removal of some sound deadening, and replacement of the washer bottle by a 964 Cup bottle (1.5 liters).

Can someone guesstimate what a turboS with replica c2 wheels with 245/40z's in front and 255/40z's in back, no speakers, no spare, no jack, full of fluids, 1/4 tank of gas, and a 150lb driver weigh? I want to enter it in the gtech and go out in an hour

well, let's see.....

3160 should be ABOUT right- that was my car w/full tank- let's say 3170 to be conservative.....

replicas C2 wheels are ~5lbs heavier (by most accounts, than C2 factory- the tire weight will vary a LOT too... anyway- MY Club Sports w/tires were almost IDEDNTICAL to my new C2's W/tires- the front C2s are actually lighter by 1lb each, but, that's 225/45's- YOU have a little more weight w/the 245's, so, I'd add 2lbs each- that's 1lb each MORE than club Spoirts, + the weight of the aftermarket wheel- so, 6 + 6 + 5 + 5 should be close- that's 22lbs- then- the speakers were only ~3lbs each including adapter frames & tweeters (you wanna sell those FRONT plastic frames AND speakers? Do you have the 3.25's & 3-way X-overs? PM me please)- that's ~12lbs total- what about the stereo? you didn't mention, but, it's worth ~6lbs... wiring another pound... anyway- 12 + 22 = 34. then- spare is 29lbs (off the WRONG end of the car, unfortunately)- 29 + 34 = 63. Then- the jack is light, but probably 3lbs, so, 66lbs, then, a 1/4 tank is 36.9lbs @ 7lbs / gal- 21.1 gal is full tank, so, exactly 103lbs, assuming you don't have a stereo- then, 109lbs, then wiring, 110lbs.... anyway, if we go w/100, then, you ADD 150lbs for driver, then, you SHOULD be running ~3210-3220lbs total.... how does that sound? Also- have you done any exhaust stuff? removed the rear seat backs or anything? I listed those before- the exhaust is ~30lbs for the whole thing including cat & muffler, i think- would have to look to be sure.... but, most aftermarket systems remove ~15lbs (& add horrible noise....)- I HAVE to do something to my SFR soon to make it sound quiet again... can't STAND it....

let me know about the speakers....

ooh I forgot, went from a 36 pound cat to a 14 pound testpipe, thanks Robby.

About the speakers, the po ripped out the 4x6s in the back, the tweeters on the top of the door panel, the little red x-over boxes are still mounted to the door, that plastic speaker holder that goes inside the panel is outside the car, the speakers are torn around the rim, but I'm planning on running 2 6"s in the front panel and 2 4x6 kappa perfects in the rear so I can at least have something. I already bought the mtx amp, and polk audio sub (damn thing weighs 15 lbs!!! Without a box!!). I do have an aiwa cd player, all of which is awaiting installation. But, they have to deal with me, and im a lazy retard, so they wont be in the car till sometime in 2006.

About the speakers....
then subtract 22lbs from what I had said...

WAIT!!!! DO NOT put 4x6's in the rear- your car had 6.5's if an '89.... ALSO- knowing what I know- I would buy all stock speakers & skip aftermarket crap no matter WHAT- see my other thread on this- I've been through HELL... you'll never get anything larger than a 5.25 up front w/out MAJOR work & even if you did, bass would SUCK out loud unless GOD smiles on you- you have NO enclosure room thanks to the way Porshce fu**ed up our doors & Armrest (& they wont even give us a fu**ing handle to close the doors with dammit!!!). These cars have a HORRIBLE stereo layout- imaging is about as bad as it gets ESPECIALLY for Turbo S.... It ONLY get's worse w/aftermarket stuff- my car sounded better w/factory speakers & NO amp.... factory speakers are MUCH more efficient, so, don't need extra power- I'm about to rip out all my stuff & go BACK if I don't get some good responses SOON- DO NOT lose those plastic adapter pieces for the fronts.... they are the ONLY way to get something in there nciely & well sealed w/out adding a TON & fu**ing EVERYTHING up- UNLESS, you are AWESOME at it & can cut the panels & mount the 5.25's where the EARLY cars 4x6 went- that is the BEST place- even later 968's moved their 3.25 to THAT location- for a REASON.... anyway, don't work too hard- you will end up like me... wishing you had never even heard of a 944.... I've got $30K in this fu**ing POS- to think- I COULD have had a brand new A4 w/chips & sport package & $3K left over, OR, a 96 M3, etc.... VERY UPSETTING- since I STILL have AT least $15K to go..... BOY- I could write a BOOK on what NOT to do.... Anyway.... a nice 5.25 seperate is about the only thing you have enough enclosure space for under the armrests- you really don't have that, BUT, you are running a sub anywya, so, bass should be okay..

The 89s don't use 4x6's in the rears?? I thought all late model 944s used 4x6's in the rear, and all the ones without the 10speaker option used them in the front too. What kind of speakers do I need for the rear? What is their exact size?

Robby do you have aim, so i can stop hijacking this thread?

Corner balanced at 2784 with a 200lb weight difference removed, on a 1/2 tank.
So what you got sounds right. I wonder how they get 2899 in the owners manual.

I guess Porsche is conservative with their weight ratings along with their HP stats.

You sure it's not 2998? That's what I've always seen, but, don't have an owners manual handy....

Yeah, they say curb weight = 2899.
Conservative or someone screwed up over there, but who knows what curb weight really means.

no kidding- people TRY to define "curb" but, it varies in some ways from manufacturer to manufacturer- annoying really- that's why I ALWAYS go w/TEST (actual) weight- I want to know WORST case scenario the way the car feels w/FULL tank of gas the way it rolled off the showroom floor- of course, many people check actual weights w/1/2 tank of gas, etc, so even THAT weight is not perfectly consistent across the board....

The manual said this:

944 Turbo 1986 AND Turbo S (which would be from 88) total curb weight is 1350kgs (2976.21000 lbs). What is curb weight?
