Default How Many Weeks.....

....did you have to work to pay for your 951? I'm painfully aware of the price differences for 951's across the world, and I'd like to understand the relativity between prices and the (after taxes) $$ earned it takes to put one in your garage. Good ones go for anything between A$20K to A$35K here (in Australia), and it took me about 30 weeks of after tax $$ to own mine. Look forward to seeing some numbers.....

Dude, if you want another one, I will buy it here, and a year later will ship it to you tax free! They are around NZD18-20K here for pretty decent ones. Three months to get mine here...

Bought my first 85.5 Euro for $3500 in near mint shape as a birthday present in Germany back in 99. Got my first 951 in 2000 for $8K in Germany as well, and it only took one years service in Iraq to pay it off!

Question

Guys

Thanks for your responses - but you're missing the point - I'm trying to find out how many weeks' take-home wages it costs to buy a 951 in each country. For example, if you bought one for $5000 and you took home $500 each week, it means that it cost 10 weeks' wages to own the car. If you're a student and earned $150/week and bought a $3000 951, it'd be worth 20 weeks' pay.

Thanks

Rob

cool thread. I paid $9K cash, and soon put in $5K more. I am 41. I have wanted a killer fast german car my entire life. I have owned:

78 Audi Fox GTI
81 Scirroco S
84 GTI
85 Golf GTI
85 944
90 Audi quattro coupe
98 passat 1.8T
99 A6 avant

Currently:

'02 A4 Avant - chipped,yata yata
'87 951!! best by a long shot.

the 951 simply hauls *** and is so trackable. I f#kin love it.

Oh, I could've spent $20K on a 911 that would have dreamnt about being as qwik!?

A dealer here in Taiwan offered to trade my 951 for USD 4000.

That's daylight robbery to me. I bought the car for about USD 8000, 18 months ago and spent more than 30K on the car.

EDIT: Ok I see the question now... I need 50 weeks.

I get as much enjoyment out of my car as any I can think of that would cost me $30K, at least.

I have to admit that i love blowing by and into the entirely next pack of traffic every time some lame wanna be driver and car even F#ck with me.

Fun to go from 60 to 120 in like, nano seconds..........

Hmmm, 3300 USD divided by ~$500 a week...6.6 weeks or thereabouts. Paint is a little F-ed, but the lines are still beautiful.

DUDE! CANYON BLASTER! I met you on New Years eve at Second Creek, you tried to sell me those flat dish wheels. I'm that 21 year old punk *** kid with the 924S that pissed off the bimmer boys cuz I wouldn't let em pass! dude!... I just realized that from the pic above of your car that day. I remember clearly looking at your car and drooling all over it. (well, next to it).

I didn't know you were a 'lister then! wow. small world.

I've done some DE's, but next weekend, the 2nd, my dad's draggin me to a BMW CCA DE, in which I'll show the bimmer boys which bavarian badass is gonna leave em in the dust (even though it's not competitive...that's what they WANT you to think).

I like the BMW CCA...they seem slightly more organized than PCA, but the one REALLY annoying thing is in the pits, you hear, "that's the funniest lookin BMW I've ever seen."

My response is usually something around this: "Yeah, that's cuz it doesn't look like every other BMW to roll off the assembly line. f*ckin identity crisis"

but I'm a PCA member too. I'm hoping to do some DE's with them. Eventually club races once I get a 951, and turn the 924S into a track car...
