After struggling with a whole bunch of fitment issues, the engine is running! Man, the sound of the 2.8L is wicked... nice deep grumble, doesn't sound like much like a 944 any more. The new turbo barely fits... the TPS wouldn't fit, so a smaller M3 unit was installed and it's all good now.
Just waiting on my custom charge pipes and heat wrap to arrive, and I'll be ready to street tune, break in the motor, then crank up the boost.

Alright, I've updated my pics on my site... lots of cool engine removal and buildup pics. I pretty much replaced the whole drivetrain in my car lol. Been collecting parts slowly over the last 2 years and installed everything at once! Here's the things I've replaced and installed:
- 2.8L block (JE pistons, sleeves, Total seal rings and specs from Anderson Motorworks)
- 1000cc Injectors (95lb/hr)
- Custom Charge Piping
- T04E 60 trim turbo (TEC)
- Guru Racing Metal 106mm Headgasket
- Rothmans Cup Car Tranny w/custom oil cooler
- Ground Control Coilovers 450lb springs
- 28mm rear torsion bar
Anyhow, the pictures are available at :

You are not ******** around are you... looking pretty serious.
EDIT: An electrical engineer from Link was telling me about them, I will try find the source, I would be nervous using on though! It senses the distance of the pedal from the floor, I guess they would not be selling it if it was not reliable though.

Oh, and there were some ppl that were wondering how the drivetrain went back in after it was dropped out in Dec... it went in the same way. Marc spent 10 mins to bolt it all back up and into a rolling chassis
.
Once I get everything running, I'll have a LOT of spare parts for sale haha. Or maybe I'll buy a 951 shell and build another car lol.

That looks like a fun project! I wish I had the knowledge & time to do something like that. And on a Porsche no less! Those Turbos sure were nice cars, too bad they're a thing of the past. I sorta wonder how they'd look today if they continued to evolve (from a design standpoint).

Rage,
Very inspiring. Thanks for the pictures. Is the cam tower powder coated or painted? Who did it? Looks great.
Can you explain what a Rothman tranny is? Thanks.
