Default Ahmet is a genius!

For the past two years I have been having overboost problems with my car (tial 46mm), and my none of my last 3 mechanics could solve the problem, but charged me as if they did!
Last night, we (Ahmet and I) took the Tial 46mm wastegate apart last night and found one BLUE spring inside that was fine- upon doing research, I discovered the spring is a 1BAR, and not a .8BAR as I thought- which is ok with me. I had to take my car to a muffler shop this AM (driving the car with the wastgate and other two pipes off off the whole way- it was loud and souded HORRIBLE. I had to have the Tial flanges cut off the dumptube, and the one cut off the other exhaust pipe running to the wastegate, as they were welded onto the wrong pipes to begin with. I had them weld the proper flanges on the proper pipes, and then we proceeded to CORRECTLY install the wastegate. The shop only charged me $20 for all that, because of Ahmets' connections, which was outstanding. On the test drive, the car makes about 15PSI solid, all the way to redline! It feels a LOT smoother, and for the first time in 2 years, I can actually floor the pedal w/o making 30PSI of boost. Great! Ahmet did all my work, I pretty much handed him tools when required. He is a REALLY knowledgable guy, and has done more work for me in 5 days then my shop in Florida did for the entire year I was in Iraq! I gave him $150, and have decided to give him my T04 turbo and MAF when I get my VItesse stage 2 kit here in a week or so. He is also putting in a new LSD tranny im getting from Konstantin, which should be here in 2 weeks or so. THis is what he has done for me in the past 5 days:
- Solved my wastegate problem, which was my largest head & wallet ache the past 2 years
-Tensioned my alternator belt
-tensioned my power steering adjustment and bracket
-Found and solved my #11 fuse grounding issue (kept popping)
-FIxed my passenger window switch (it worked when it wanted to)
-Fixed my mess of wires, so I can now install a radio without sorting through the tree harnesses that were back there
-installed my boost gauge light- its nice to know how much boost I am making at night!
-installed my larger injectors
-TIghtened my starter bolts
-solved a coolant leak
I am going to visit my Dad in Colorodo for 10 days, as he i sgoing to Iraq in 2 weeks for his year over there, and I wanted to see him before he goes. While I am gone, Ahmet is going to install my Vitesse 2 kit, my new LSD tranny, my 968 mirrors and my doorhandles, and my Iceshark lighting harness kit which has been sitting in my room for the past 1.5 years. This Saturday I am going to a dyno to tune my car some more. I am willing to bet I can make 25-30hp at the wheels through tuning... can't wait. WIll post pictures.
Just wanted to give Ahmet a public thanks for all the help- he's a hell of a guy!
I think I've found my new mechanic, and he works cheap!
What a great guy, just wanted to give him a public thanks.

Glad you solved the boost problems. Working on the car with a buddy is a lot more fun especially if time is not an issue.

Why are you dynoing your car now, if you are upgrading in couple of weeks you will have a complete new setup.

Because I want an idea of the difference in power I shall be making with my setup now, then with your kit. Also, it will give Ahmet an idea of what he'll be making with my stuff. Its a dyno day, so its cheap! $55 with a wideband for three runs.
John, I also decided to wait and get your stage 2 kit all at once, it wil be easier. Hopefully by Monday you will have a Money order enroute to you!
