In Australia we often get Euro spec cars, such as the 968 cs or 911rs/911 cs. I have never seen a 944 turbo cs and have several books on the 944 series with no mention of a cs.

Yes there was 1 other car that ran the same Rothmans Livery #73
It was owned and campained by Sewickly Porsche dealership
and driven by Deric Bell,& Kees Noriep and ???.

My car #14 was owned and campaned by Porsche Motorsport and
supported in the pits by Carlsen Porsche.

See photo: I have a Document from 1986 about one of the 2 Rothmans cars being painter the wrong blue color and think its the #73 car. You can see its a brighter blue. I have compaired my car #14 and photos of factory racing 959s and 962s with Rothmans livery and they are all darker almost navy blue.

I also have seen two club sport 944 turbos. When I was at the dealer years , probably about the same time. They were also white. I tried to ck them out but as soon as they were delivered to the dealer, they were put in a transporter and taken away. Also I have seen two clubsport 911s. Both were taken european delivery. A couple of sales people along with the owner wanted to take a free trip on the dealers tab to Germany and they did it by picking up two 911 clubsports and bringing them back to the US. Yes they were US spec cars with no a/c and very light weight. They also had different heads, control unit , and lighter interior. The 911s hung around for awhile the customers could not get over having to pay more for less. As I recall the dealer lost money on them.

I hope you guys are getting this straight. I don't have proof , however I am absolutley positive the stickers on the side of the car were CS and very sexy. They were in a checkered design When I asked about them I was told some racer bought them and like I said as soon as they came off the truck they were put in an inclosed trailer and then gone. Sounds like bs I know but I tell it for the truth. I saw some neat stuff over the years.

You know the forged wheels on the '88 Turbo S & '89 Turbo are called "Club Sports"...

So if a lightweight 944 Turbo was shod with said rims, they would be
the Club Sports' Club Sports!

I don't nesasarily agree with that. We saw club sport rims on alot of turbo "s" cars. Since working in the Rolex series, I here all about top teams getting cars for free from the manufacturer. Thes cars could have been one of those deals. You never know.

Since the 928 Club Sport, as the flagship car, was apparently the first one to feature that rim design it makes sense (to me, at least) that the very similar 951 S rims kept the same name.

Jim, do you remember and specifics on the car? How much power what it making and how much did it weigh?

Porschehead... do you know who owns the #73 car and/or any specs on that? I'm not sure I've seen your #14 car. Please post pics and details on that one too

I'm assuming the few 951 CS's that were made were modified Cups? If I'm wrong, tell me how the two were different. I'm also assuming the CS was considered a higher variant of the 951 then the Cup? The Cup was already lightweight and producing 305hp, correct? In what way did the few CS models top the Cup?

Production numbers... any speculation on how many 951 CS's were made compared to the limited Cup production run?

Speaking of which... does anyone have ANY pictures of a confirmed 951 CS?? I really want to see how it looked.

Also, do any members have a 951 Cup?

Here are a couple of photos of my car at Mosport 24 hour in 1986
with Bill Adam and Al Holbert at the wheel.. Note Al Holberts
# 14.

The #73 car is owned now by a guy in Chicago, cant recall his name.

My car #14 was Porsche AG's test/ development car for run of 6 Escort Endurace cars. Then Porsche Motorsport N.A. owned and campained the car.

Remember I found it in a guys back yard last July for sale as a parts car
"DIRT CHEAP"

I have seen one as well at the car museum in Sinsheim, Germany. They had a whole bunch of cool, rare cars there.
