Default Koni M030 front strut rebuilding costs $$$$$$

OMG I was quoted $450 by performance shock in Sonoma to rebuild and paint each!!! Is that the going rate? I could have sworn it wasn't too long ago I thought it was more like in the $200 range each!!

Has anyone used anyone else recently that they'd recommend?

Thanks
Mike G.

Truechoice would be an option, looks like Pro Parts USA as well.
No experience with either but have read about others using Truechoice.

LOL This reminds me of a converstion my wife and I just had... She was complainng about an apple pie and how much it cost... I said what? Like $5 right? Nope .... $20.00 She said, "you havent been to the grocery store in years you need to get out and see what things cost" Inflation is crazy...
Ill ask around.. and see... I have an extra mo30 that I was planning on re doing... Painting and rebuilding and selling.. I actually have Rears that have a date code on them of Like 2001 with original 951 tags that came off the racecar when I took it apart..

I had my fronts done by Truechoice this year. Did a great job, with quick turnaround. He does leave a lot to be desired on the communication front, but his work is top notch and fast.

Thanks that’s really good to know. Can you tell me what they charged? And did they paint them for you also? I really actually prefer painting them myself but who knows.

Yes he painted them to OEM finish level with the correct color.

Responded to your PM on cost. I had my fronts converted to double adjustable, and he was running a service "sale" when I had him do the work (between his busy times of year-racing schedule) so what I paid isn't what you're looking for anyway. IF you get him on the phone, leave a message, he will return your call, he'll give you an accurate quote with no BS.

Did you also change to 2 1/2" springs with this rebuild? TIA.

I just sent mine to Truechoice today. I was quoted around $500 for the basic rebuild to stock, shipping included.

I had a full set of double adjustables (8742 fronts, 3012 rears) rebuilt by True Choice in 2019, labor was $200 for each front, $165 for each rear, and then parts were in addition to that. Total bill was about $950. I recall that was quite a bit higher than what I paid for the previous rebuild by Koni (they no longer have their own service center) in 2012.

Maybe Performance shock was quoting me for both struts. Because both the other two vendors quoted me $200 ea + parts.

Or maybe for conversion from single to double adjustable? That used to be about $400 per strut.

Called Performance Shock and they said they pretty much replace all the internals and that's why the cost is higher, about $300 each plus painting and any additional parts.
