Default autronic or wolf3d?

hi all,

anybody have any experience with autronic (sm2) or wolf3d v4? i'm
*thinking* of going standalone at some stage, and wondered what people's thoughts were.

sm2 seems nice, traction control, boost control, autotune, etc. but wolf3d is nice too, and waay cheap.

what is it with downunder (australia and nz) and standalones? seems that heaps of them come from here (eg link, wolf, haltech, autronic, and the big daddy, motec).

Direct link to the level of racing in those countries. European, Australian, and Japanese racing severely dwarfs American racing in maturity and development.

Between the two you mentioned, I'd go with the Autotronic.

Autronic is supposed to be designed by a Motec-guy.
Many "super"-tuned cars around here use Autronic.

But the DTA seems like a very good alternativ with low price and lots of functions. Another good thing about DTA is that it appears to be very compatible with our stock sensors.

I am probably going with a DTA when I finally get my low comp 3.0 block built up. Looks like a nice unit with lots of good features. Has anyone made up a harness to use these with a 944 turbo or 968 turbo?

I have a few different distributors that I have spoken to on and off for the past three years as my project ideas come together. A guy here on the 951 board named Don Walker (he had a different handle though) has emailed back anbd forth with me for almost over a year now. He actually has my throttle body and sensor loom, so that he could fab some stuff up for this. He said the DTA loom for my 928 woul dbe about 1100 dollars, but I have not been able to get ahold of him by email recently. Hope he is still around.

The prices for the USA distributors of the DTA are around 1500-1600 (last time I checked), and that was about the same as the price in british pounds, but now that the dollar is weak, we have 1.87 for each pound.
