Default 1986 951 Power Mods

I am looking to buy an '86 951, and as most Rennlisters, I would definitely modify it for performance. However, as I am new to 951's, I was wondering what kind of RWHP/ RWTQ should be expected with the following mods:

Vitessi Stage 2 (or Stage 3) w/ BB Upgrade
SS Exhaust from Lindsey Racing
55 lb Injectors
Lindsey Stage II Intercooler
93 Octane
15-16 Lbs Boost

I would also probably go with Racing seats with harnesses to drop easy weight without dropping a lot of comfort.

Exactly what I was thinking...

The website quotes something (achievable) but many not (realistic).

I was wondering the same config, and the same (above, realistic, real world, reliable) conditions...

Please, guys, inquiring minds want to know!

At that boost, maybe 320RWHP? maybe a little more, I think B951S is running something kind of close to this setup... though I may be wrong, maybe Magown?

From my estimate I should get about 320 RWHP with a Stage II and 350 RWHP with a Stage III? What about Lindsey's 364 RWHP package, anyone back up the claim of 364 RWHP on Pump gas?

I think you will find no one backing that 364 claim up. I would like to be proven wrong though! I like the idea of 364 951's flying around the place.

Oh by the way, the updated IC is that that beneficial at your HP level (320 approx). I think it becomes important closer to 400. Your cash may be better spent on something else... Maybe some good CV's! Lindsey has some cool ones...

If I'm not mistaken recently a couple of people with the Vitesse kit (or at least the turbo) posted some dyno charts..... The exhaust would add a few more if they didn't have it, the other things are there for efficiency/safety/requirement to make that kind of power and may not really add any additional power to it.

You will definitely want an upgraded wastegate with dual port operation though rather than just shimming an old one....at least IMHO. Much better boost control. Or at least go with something like a Reliaboost. You could easily swap out doing the IC cost for doing the Tial wastegate cost.

I'm wanting to do the Vitesse Stage II quick spool myself for my turbo choice, maybe mating it to the new SFR MAF kit that is $1000 (doesn't come with chips which is why it is cheaper) or just getting the full Vitesse kit for Stage II. Undecided at this point and too many other things to do before I have that money to spend yet

Definitely go over the car and make sure it's ready for that kind of power increase or you may install it and then have the car in the shop for a headgasket pretty quick.....

Good luck in the search!
