Hmm... I'm seeing around 10 all the time... The only leak I know of is the stock DV leaking at idle. When I block it off, the vacuum doesn't change much. Any other reasons?

10 is not normal. You definitely have a leak somewhere

Where are you getting your vacuum from? If the car is running ok but only seeing 10" you probably have a leak close to the gauge.

I'm getting vac from the KLR line... I will check my boost gauge for leaks and try another vac gauge.

I get about 12-13 warm at around 800 rpm. I just got an HKS SSQV BOV and it is slow to respond when I shift. I hear the flutter sound (air rushing back out the turbo inlet). I'm thinking it is because of low vacuum. But there are no leaks anymore - don't know why it is so low? Anyone?

I'm also at about 6000ft above sea level.

I'm getting about 38kpa from my MAP at cool operating temps. I think this roughly translates to 18.7 inHG (could someone check the math on this for me?) Outside pressure was 93kpa when I took the reading. On decel I think I'm getting about 23.4 inHG.

Justin

EDIT: I'm at 2200ft

i think your low vacuum is due to the altitude. there is after all, a lot less atmosphere pushing air into the cylinders at 6000 ft. Last summer, i ran up to the mountains in idaho from phoenix. i was pulling about 18 inches in phoenix (about 1000 feet above sea level) and about 14 inches in idaho (i dont know how high, but in the mountains), both readings when warm.

take care,
brian

cpt,
Have you checked the back of your boostgauge to see if you hooked up the line securely. That would be my first thing to look at if I have that low of vacuum if you are certain there are no other leaks in the engine bay.

I too have the HKS SSQ BOV with the GURU MAP kit and I hold the 19-20 vacuum. The HKS should not leak at idle because of the way it was designed. How did you install the HKS? Right when I let off the throttle under boost I will hear my whistle blow off valve sound...Any questions just PM me
