Default Does anyone make/sell 16v manifold "stubs"

Wondering if anybody knows a source for pre-fab (welded tube, cnc, whatever) of the "runner stubs" that can be used to make a 944 DOHC intake manifold, just add plenum.

None of the people that make "ITB kits" have any interest in selling just this part, only full kits.

The part In question is in the red square in this borrowed photo.

Have you tried Lance Hayward at Hayward Performance?

Yes, he's one of the ones who only wants to sell the full kit.

Ah ok, I figured you may have already contacted him but you didn’t say who you approached. So SFR, Lindsey, Micheal Mount all won’t sell them individually either?

There is also an outfit in Australia that did one, I’ll see if I can find them...ltr

None of the plastics for 3d printers are fuel safe...?

Wouldn't hold up to the stress of the parts hanging off...?

You could make a single out of styrofoam, 1 layer of fine lightweight cloth + epoxy and have it 3d scanned into a CAD/CNF file and have a shop make out of aluminum.

I could make the piece to be scanned..., somewhere between October 11 and November 8....,

BTW, the day I'm rolling, looks like thunderstorm city. Not gonna be looking to go much out of the way on that Friday.

Most 3d printer plastics will not hold up to the heat. What you can do is make a prototype in Fusion360 then send the file to a prototype place like protolabs.com or a guy with a CNC machine and have him make them off the file you provide. Customer parts and prototyping has become much easier for us to all use now.

@michaelmount123 , back in the old days, it would have been maybe 30 seconds before somebody took you up on this.

This is a generous contribution for you to offer use of the pieces.

I'd take it on just for the good of the community, especially if it were class legal for me but....too many irons in the fire.

Michael,
do you still have the info for making the stubs in my original picture, but with fuel injector bungs?

as I understand that's one of your engines.

928motorsports has nylon 66 stubs made for 928 engines but the "elbow" points the wrong way, as 928s have 7" or so more hood clearance than 944. They are also quite pricey.

I’m interested in an ITB kit for my 968 motor. I’m probably going to with the Hayward kit in the spring unless there’s another option.
