I was looking at a 968 wing for my 951.
There is one for sale on Ebay for $1000.
Are they really that much?
Anywhere I could find one cheaper?
Thanks,
Eric

Do a search. There was a thread about a week ago on this forum or the main 944 forum. Someone was working with 944racing.com to have them do another production run.
FYI, a stock 968 wing will not (without drilling the glass) fit your 951 hatch, you need a 968 hatch as well. The repro units that 944racing made/are making are designed to fit the holes present in the 944/951 hatch. They do not have a third brake light.
Hope that helps.

Called Jeff Hinkle Friday to order parts. Seems he's quittin' the biz; he doesn't get enough racing time in any more.
It really broke my heart to hear that, I've been doing business with Jeff since before 944racing existed. Can't say I blame him though. He did say he would continue to stay in the manufacturing biz. He intends to still make wings, short shift kits, etc, will just sell through other distributors. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

With all these turners going out of business and out of reputation in other ways, I wonder if any will enter the market. Why have all these people gone? Is the 951 mod scene dead or got a terminal illness? Their number can only reduce afterall.

Man in the lsat few years Ive seen a ton of innovative products come out for 951s from new companies...
SFR, Guru, Lindsey has new stuff coming out every day, Vitesse, Huntley did a bunch of stuff no one else was doing and Im sad to see him go, but thats life.
Mod scence dead? I think not...

I would have to say that it is a shrinking market though.
I see more people exiting the market (via wrecks, selling, just letting it sit there)
than I do see people entering the market (people buying a car to start modding)
Its far from dead though, as when It comes to trackable cars that can be modded easily for big gains (read: turbo) you only have a few choices, and the 951 is a popular one.
If you are looking for pure modding fun, you could go with a supra,rx7,3000gt,etc but other than that you don't have many choices (in the lower cost market)
If you are looking for a solid track car, a 944 NA will get you a long long way.
For these reasons, its still a pretty solid market, but I think it is shrinking slowly, and overcrowded.
