Default Price Check M030 spindles/hubs/big blacks

Hey guys-
Selling off a bunch of stuff that's sitting in storage and not being used. I've got 2 sets of 944 M030 Hubs (only 1 set pictured), 1 set of M030 Spindles, 1 set of backing plates, and the 2 front Big Blacks. What's a fair price to ask for this stuff?

I think I paid $1100 for my front M030 spindles but they were powder coated, and I think $600-$650 is the going rate for the M030 brake calipers. And about $500 to $550 for the M030 front hubs.

For those who have upgraded to M030 brakes, was it worth it? Is the difference significant? I have an 86 944 turbo and have considered upgrading the front suspension to late offset due to better wheel/suspension options (I already have M030 968 struts).

If I decide to go that direction, I might as well go big and get the "good stuff".

I have a 1988 turbo S with the M030 brakes (fronts are 928 brakes), suspension, etc. I’ve also driven 1986 turbos. I’d say it depends how you plan to use the 944 turbo. The M030 upgrade is expensive and parts are difficult to find. If I recall, the hubs are $1000+ each if you can find them. The suspension is tight and the adjustable Konis are great. The M030 is very capable but I’d say if you are not going to the track on a regular basis, you won’t miss them on the street. However, if you do upgrade, the brakes are amazing, suspension is tight and you’ll feel everything and the car corners flatter. The 1986 is plenty capable for the street in my opinion. Good luck deciding.

Aren't 86 turbo brakes the same as S2 brakes? As for the "good stuff" I wouldn't spend $1000's on 30+ year old kit, when there's newer options that are arguably better.

I have raced with both a 1986 Turbo Cup and a 1989 Turbo Cup, both factory built racecars. I absolutely loved the -86 cars brakes, very easy to modulate and with great feel. I experienced fade once on the track but fitted the later Cup cars brake cooling together with performance friction race pads and never had an issue again. That was with stock Cup 8" and 9" 16" Fuchs with 225 front and 245 rears.
The later -89 Cup had more effective brakes but not as easy to modulate, ofcoarse that is a ABS system. I used both the stock Cup magnesium 16" phonies and 18" BBS E88 on that car. It was faster on the 18" but alot more agile and responsive on the 16" mag wheels.
If I were you I would set you car up with brakecooling on the control arms and struts from a 968 Clubsport (copy from 87-89 Cups) and the -87 onwards 951 scoops in the front apron together with fresh rotors and really good race quality pads and stay with 16"wheels. Very effective system and all you need for a lightweight 300hp trackprepped nonaero 951.

AFAIK all 968's have the same 2 plastic scoops that attach to the strut and control arm. Someone kindly gave me a set, but I haven't got round to fitting them yet. Also I think all the early turbos had the ducts that are fitted into the plastic wheel arch. My late 90 built car didn't have them from the factory, but they were easy to fit. Both of these parts used to be a lot cheaper directly from Porsche, than some resellers were asking.

Great info! I just searched and the lower factory scoops are available, but unfortunately the upper scoops are NLA.

Just so we're all on the same page, M030 951/968 are not the same as Big Blacks. Big Blacks are equivalent to Big Reds with exception for the color and the orientation of the crossover line/bleed screws. M030 and Big Black/Reds do not use the same brake pad.

Big black/red are also quite a bit bigger calipers than M030/F40.
