Default are balance shaft housings interchangeable

bearing housing for front balance shaft bearings...can i use an early lower front bearing housing on a 3.0 block?

thanks...

while we are on the early/late hybrind topic...anybody using the 3.0l oil cooler console in a turbo?

No.

All balance shaft housings are machined with the block.

Yes you can physically do it, but you risk problems like bearing tolerances, housing leaks, etc...

tony...i should ahve been more specific....i was really asking anbout the snout bearing/housing casting....so i can run normal early tehsioner instead of hydraulic 968 piece.

Mumzer, yes it will fit but you will not have a bolt hole for the pivot that the tensioner arm rides on. The stud screws into the end housing and there is no provision on the earlier housing. By tensioner arm I am referring to the cam belt.

thanks...sticking a 3 litre together with a 2 valvel head....im going to use the 2 valve tensioner....i guess i may have to drill and tap the boss on the block...
