951 and 996tt
My Son and I go out and he usually drives the 951. That car is amazing in every fashion. He drives that car so well and it just roars with all the correct mods we did. He is always up my rear when we road race. Today him and I out ran everyone and he just makes that car sing around turns. Amazing what an great car and great driver can do.

I have both cars. 86-951 and 02-996tt. I actually prefer the 951. Maybe I should have bought a
manual 996 but the 951 has the whole package,
Good looks, excellent handling, relatively cheap maintenance, relatively easy maintenance, good mileage, more practical with hatch back.
My previous tuned 88-951 used to routinely outrun 996gt3 on the highway. On the circuit and straight line acceleration even a 911SC would pull away due to rear engine and my 951 did not have LSD.
Maybe I should sell the 996 and invest some serious money into 951 making it a 400bhp monster.

I enjoy both cars. The 951 is a beast and is all about power and suspension. The 996TT is an X50 with lots of power too. Great for the track during the day, and can take my wife out to dinner in it at night. She will not go in the 951, hates the car because it causes terrible pain to her back. Anj lets face it, these are not the most forgiving cars once setup right.

I'm the luckiest guy in the world cuz my wife loves the 951 and 930. The 996 is a little too clean for her. It only has 34,000km. The faster I go the more relaxed she is in the order cars. Last night I had the 996 into the second round of triple digits and it's not as stable as the 930. It's either tires or alignment.

Definitely right Stephancs601 I have suspension and front tire issues. I have new tires at the back and used tires up front. Stock setup so the front sits higher than the rear due to saggy rear springs. I bought the car 3 years ago with original Pirelli tires. That was scary. Maybe I'm a Luddite. I love the directness of the 930 and finger tip guidance I get from the 951 and 928S4.

I had a modified 996TT and I still own a 951 and a turbocharged 968. The 996TT just felt solid and like an expensive car compared to the older 4 cylinders. The power was effortless and the traction sublime. It is evident the 911 is the top of the line. Hard to explain if you haven't experienced them all. I will get another 911 Turbo one day - maybe a 997 version.

I also have both and love both. different uses. both great cars. One thing that surprised me was that for extended track use the 996 turbo would require a transmission cooler where the 951 has run lots of track time never an issue with transmission.

Just did an oil change on the 996tt with 5w40. Huge difference, chain rattle is gone.
Just did a clutch on the 951, huge difference, no chatter in reverse. Yes they are great car. I guess I haven't bonded with the 996, only covering 10,000km in 3 years. Not this 951, but in a previous 951 i covered 15000km a year for 3years including track days, holidays, etc. The 996turbo is a bit of a garage queen.

No experience with the 996TT, but i just picked up a 996 C4 cab for the Mrs (that is my story and im sticking to it).
First impression is that mesh wind protector really works... 120ish mph with top down and the cabin was relatively drama free. 4th-5th-6th on the highway is a nice kick in the rear. Not the push I'm used to from the 951, but it was nice to have a relatively linear powerband, and to be able to rev past 6000 rpm.
Best thing? Working A/C!
