Cool

Yep...in Tahoe Blue Metallic.

Imagine this with a 3L Turbo S powerplant and a 6 speed LSD delivery...note the 993 style headlights.

951 body but with the "Electromotive car" body kit, and tires to match.
TonyG type suspension upgrade (GT3 stuff grafted to 944 tub)
Pop-ups with high-spec LED projectors.

Singer-ized full leather interior, nice thick carpet.
No boy-racer stupid crap like cages/bars/harnesses. Just a nice street car interior.

4.0L Thor engine, running NA, should make a solid 320-400HP depending on cam selection, with all the grunt you'll ever need.

I have built that car over and over in my head many times 😎. Just need to win the lottery.

Great Thread! All in fun, but this version is starting to look like a last gen Ford T-bird. A 944 MUST have sharp body creases -- that's its essence. A 944 is not a 968. I have no idea what a Singer 944 ought to look like, except room for more rubber under the fenders.
I had the pleasure of seeing a Singer (bright yellow) at a high-end dealership, awaiting its owner (who was trying to come up with the $750K?), and had an incredible urge to caress it, which I did, followed by a salesman with a very soft cotton towel, wiping off all evidence of affection.

I was going to start a thread like this one. Since my brother now bought a 944 turbo and wants to restore it I figured we should try to make a singer type 951 build.

I know one of the former singer engineers. He has offered to do the project with us. 944 turbo reimagined. Is there a market for a $100k super 951? I think so maintaining the addictive fun of a turbo and the unique style of a 944 with pop up headlights. Now cooler than ever.

Engine build 500hp
Drivetrain: 6spd, LSD
Suspension: adjustable modern tech setup
Exterior: Euro bumpers. Carbon fiber parts?
Lighting: upgraded LED lighting including tail lights
Interior: full custom interior.
Wheels: 18" Fikse Fuchs style rsr wheels?

What else?

- 996 GT cup car style mirrors
- no radio
- no sunroof
- door panels with pull style door handles
- custom rear spoiler

Nice car in that image.

Sort of off-topic... Skinny German plates look so much better on a 944. I hate how US plates mount to the back of the car.

Also notice the tail lights. The orange was taken off. And the car has the euro bumper and bridge spoiler.

One of my biggest dilemmas is what lightweight and foldable seat to install. There isn’t an available option that looks just right for the period and design of the 944/968 interior, in my opinion.

Could be reupholstered stock sport seats or the singer recaros.

I had stock sports seats and they weigh a lot, and weren’t too comfortable for me.

I would put down the money for Singer seats if they were for sale.
