Default Position of Turbo Gauge?

I know, I know, I should have a aftermarket turbo gauge by now, but I have been thinking of where to put it. I know they make the gauge cluster to fit under my CD player but I don't care for that because you can't see the road when you are looking down there. The other spot I have heard of is a gauge cluster on the boby panel just left of view when looking out the windshield. I kind of like that but like to keep my options open. Also I a not 100% sure on which gauge to get, brand or up to what PSI. I don't plan on going past 20psi EVER so I can't see get one that has like 30 on it. Just makes it harder to read. The one nice thing is that my car has a black interior so if I get the body panel one it already comes in black. What would get another good gauge to put in there? I know most of those are 2.

Well, i mounted mine down by the drivers knee, because i really don't need to see the needle going up and down other than once in awhile. The steering wheel blocks it out where i have it, so it is out of sight unless i need to check it. I don't really like A pillar pods, they already reduce your visibility in traffic, no need to reduce it even more by having pods hanging up there. If you want it to look good, get the 2 inch gauges and put it under the radio.

So why, tell me, doesn't anyone replace, rebuild, or otherwise fix the one in the dash to be accurate?

VDO makes a very nice -30 to +30 vac/boost gauge. This way you can check on your vacuum at the same time as watching your boost.

I have the pillar pod and don't think it reduces visibility at all. I'm 6'1 and the way I have my seat positioned, my field of view is above it. The boost gauge is the lowest one and the remote fuel pressure is the top. My mouth is about in line with the top gauge. The gauges only stick out 2" from the factory cover. I think the pillar pod, with the optional $5 factory paint is the way to go. Just my .02

Where is a good place to buy the pillar pod at? How about the gauges at the same time?

Gauge pod is by Lotek at gaugepods.com and I got my gauges from either Summit or Jegs.

Lo-Tek was the original manufacturer of the pc,,I think the web site is now www.gaugepods.com

www.egauges.com has a full line of VDO, Auto Meter, etc. They also have senders for remote oil, fuel, temp; everything you need.

Man I want to go driving but it's raining its A** off here! So here I sit...

Autometer has a gauge that reads up to 20 psi max. Summit Racing (http://www.summitracing.com/ ) sells it, model ATM-2601.
