Try Sunset Porsche or show your local Porsche dealer their prices and shame them to give you the same discount.

Similarly, my vehicle shakes a lot at idle, and then smooths out as the engine warms up. My mechanic checked the motor mounts but said that they were not leaking and seemed to be within spec, and recommended not to change them. But what else could the shaking be from if not the original motor mounts?

miss alignment on balance shafts, cylinder misfire or weak cylinder compression, clogged injector, bad plugs/wires/cap/rotor, wiring issues creating a misfire, imbalanced engine, the fact that’s its a huge four cylinder?

I did mine during freezing wintertime under a tarp garage. Hard parts were freezing fingers, steering rack (I believe you’re supposed to undo the U-joint so the crossmember lowers with rack attached but that wasn’t working so I seperated the rack from the cm instead), and yes, lining CM back up as others have said.

I read afterwards how someone uses very long bolts or threaded rod t keep CM aligned as it’s lowered far down. Next time, I will try this. Which might be soon: I bought the Meyle mounts. It’s year 2... still okay... but I don’t have hope, Or the insane $$ for Porsche mounts lol

Totally doable and if you’ve ever busted knuckles on old brakes, you’re ready

Plan for alignment afterwards
