That did the trick, thanks all!

Anyone knows what a 993 GT3 is?
The backing plates from either the 993 TT/RS or 996 GT3 do not look like the one pictured above.

Hi Thom,

I bought GT3 backing plates (996? Perhaps I misspoke) to get the size needed to clear the rotors. Then I cut the center out of them, cut the center out of my 944 backing plates, welded it all together and powder coated them to get what you see in the photo. I also paid attention to matching the location of the big red caliper hole to match the 951 location. I could have done this with the TT backing plates (which were a bit cheaper I believe) but thought it would be cool to have a GT3 part on my car. No one can tell the difference, just me and my quirky thinking.

Then I cut the 951 section with the hole for rotor cooling and attached it to the GT3 part (Don’t have a picture of this). If you look closely at the finished plate you can see the weld on the 951 piece. A bit involved but a fun project. Does anyone see all the details I put into my car, not really...but I know they are there.

Just saw this comment, sorry I don’t follow the board all that often. At this point, I was doing a mock up and just needed any rotor to look at clearances. Picture is not the final install. As you know, when fabricating custom parts, you put it together and then take it apart many times before it is complete. Good comment though...never take for granted that a picture on the web is the absolute truth. That could lead you to a very dangerous condition. Always know what you are doing is correct and question if you see otherwise. Great comment Thom!!

Just for future reference, the OP's rotors and kit are from VCI, VehicleCraft.
