In parallel each cooler sees the same inlet temp. My understanding is that this makes a better setup than series. In series the second cooler would be working with a cooler input. Parallel requires 6 where series can be done with 3 lines. BTW my car uses an external air/oil separator which adds 2 lines and it does sometimes look like a ball of worms.

I've seen the parallel setup in Larry Schumacher's car at John Wright's facility. John has done them both ways. He did the series setup on my RSA because I didn't want the extra hoses. That setup was great. At Road Atlanta in the fall I had to tape off the opening to the second cooler in order to get the oil up to temp.

John's getting the cars ready for Daytona testing next week. Maybe after they get back I'll be able to get some photos. That will be on a 911 but the idea is the same.

Alan C.

Are you running no oil thermostat? (referring to the blocking off of air to the cooler to get the temps up to operating temperature).

No, the car has a thermostat. After it opened on the RSA I would get a drop in temperature. On a hot day with the car on idle the aux fan would never come on as it did with just the stock oil cooler.

The 944 has a thermostat.

Not a direct replacement, stock lines and fittings are metric.

You have to buy metric to AN adapters for the block and run new lines with AN fittings to the new oil cooler
