Default Engine swap 944!!!!

Hey I wanted to know all the options for doing a full swap on a 1986 944 nom turbo.. I wana know how much full swaps cost and I'd also like to know which are really the best and compatible.. I was reading about about some swaps like Vette engines, Audi V8 engines, LS1 swaps??.. I wana know what can really work for that car and would fit and not crazy priced I guess I'm looking to spend max around 5k all in with trans and engine but if it cost more let me know all my options for the 944!!!

Thank you very much for all the help and knowledge

Or you could put $5k into the car, have it perfect and enjoy it for what it is. Buy a C4 Vette or something else if you want a big V8. Easier to just find a supercharger or turbo and modify what's already in front of you.

Good swaps are not easy or cheap. They can be done but they take work and money to do them right.

Guess you don't want 240flbs of torque and 235 hp, same weight as the 944 power plant, no need to upgrade brakes or drive train, a kit is available. Unique and different? Good luck= 10,000 easy

I'm 50/50 on this being a troll question, but if it isn't, the answer is that it's not worth your time. Swaps for 944s done right aren't easy or cheap, so don't try it unless you REALLY love everything else about your 944. Cheapest way to get big power out of an NA is to sell and buy a more modern car. If you love the 944 specifically, then the cheapest option is to sell the NA and buy a Turbo. The topic has been beaten to death around here anyhow, so do some searching and you'll see a ton of discussions.

$5k will buy you most of the parts to do an LS swap.
They spiral out of control for cost quickly.
I know a guy who has spent over $50k so far to put an LS3 in his 968 and the car is "almost done".

Don't expect it to be cheap, unless you can do a lot of fabrication work yourself.
