I realize the the 944 will probably never appreciate much as they get older but I like the fact that there are very few U.S. S2 cabriolets out there. Anyone have any ideas on how we can possibly identify how many are still around? I've seen a couple being parted out and some that should be parted out. That only makes mine that much more rare

90-94 Porsches in general are somewhat rare given that only about 14,000 total were made for 1992; however, I bet the % is pretty high for how many are still on the road, even the S2.

Picked up our black/linen 1990 S2 cab for the wife about a month ago now I guess. Overall it's in great shape. Picked it up in California and make the 2000 mile trek back to Kansas with NO problems! We're going to do the usual belt job on it plus we're doing suspension updates (Koni's, MO30 caster blocks, tie rods, control arm rebuild), tires and alignment. Should handle like new! The front seals were replaced a few years ago and I cannot see any leaks. I'll know more once I get a little deeper. She loves being able to go topless now! (Wait. Did that come out right? )
Glad I found this thread!

I'm sure there are a lot of coupes till on the road but cabs? I think there was only approx. 560 made for the U.S. in 91 which was the last year.

Hey gang. I changed the water pump out as it was well on it's way out. Made a nice tune if you like marbles in a tin can! Anyway, I got it all back together, "burped" the coolant system and am fairly confident that it's free of air. But in a leisurely cruise around the neighborhood, the temp got up pretty darn close to the orange mark. What's the normal operating temperature on these things? The fans did kick on, but it sure didn't seem to help matters.

Disregard last post. In my anxiety to get it back together I neglected to change out the thermostat. Turned out that it was bad. Replaced and now normal temp is about 1/2 on the guage!
