Thanks, I'm looking for installed prices and personal experiences with the firms that do this work. I've got some local information, I was wondering how the prices were around the country.

i got a price of $1482 including back window in MD. BUT, it wasn't the original german fabric. apparently, i had a choice of sta-fast...german fabric mix...or german fabric. this price was the one in the middle. the fabric was called sonnodeck

Thanks, my top is in good shape except the window is lousy-I've been quoted around $550 to replace that alone-I was wondering how much more a whole new top would be.

you are looking at about 600-890 for German canvass plus another 400 for the headliner... The labour is about 500-700 if you shop around... So realistically you are looking between 1700-2000 for a complete job... I know because I had to do it twice already... and I am a very careful shopper...

for German canvass and including headliner and labor for $1400, sounds like an unreal deal... But then I am in Sacramento (although I did not get the top or headliner locally either...) If I remember correctly, the labor lists for something betw. 10-12 hrs in the upholstery labor book... I guess this is what I get for living in Sacramento...

Look at a website called Deutto Motors. They gave me a great price of $360 and that inclded the rear window.

no, the german canvass was more expensive...i believe ~$1700 or so. the $1400 was for another material called sonnodeck which is supposed to look as good as the german fabric but last longer.

LOL, then we are comparing apples and oranges... I have never tried the American stuff and never would take my chances considering how much the labor is... But if you want to safe money and do not care about retaining the original materials, go for it (it is very easy to tell the real thing from aftermarket stuff, BTW)...

The PO paid $1100 to have the top on my car replaced. The only problem is the shop didn't have a clue what they were doing and drilled so many holed in the B-pillar it snapped in half... Only a $700 part and about 5hrs of labor to replace it and align the top. I would worry more about the true experience of the shop rather than the material.
