New 1985.2 944 owner, Western Washington area. Car has, per date code, 215/60r15 tires from 2010 on Fuchs wheels, 7 and 8 inch widths. This size or 225/50r15, from my search... almost no choices at all. Don’t want mud and snow or racetrack tires, will be driven year round except in the rare snow event. Suggestions please?

It's really hard to find high performance 15" tires anymore. You have a way better chance if you upgrade to 16" or 17" wheels. It's not personal; it's a tire supply issue.

i like Falken A/S tires for my 944, they make them in the right 15" sizes and are a pretty good tire for $80/each or so.

I have just gone thru the same process with my 1987 944S. I also live in Seattle. You will get all kinds of opinions as did I . I have 2 PCA race 944s so I am not going to worry about a high speed summer tire on a modern rim such as a Cup 1 for my stock 944. the car handles so well and our roads are so bad I decided to go where I get all my other tire work done. I went into les shwab and said look it is a Porsche and look im 62 years old and because of my age I have to be able to recognise the brand. I ended up very happy with a Toyo P215/60R 15 93H Eclipse all season.
