Single use locknuts: A comprehensive list
Hi everyone. After sifting through the WSM and PET, I thought this list of single-use locknuts might be helpful to others as a time saver. 70 locknuts total: covering front suspension, steering, rear suspension, rear axles. I compiled the list by identifying each locknut in the WSM where in the right column it states "replace" or "renew". There were also a few that were not listed as "replace/renew", but I thought to add them to the list as well, being as though they have similar duties and composition. I then cross-referenced the PET ('86 version) for the part numbers. Please add any that may have been missed and also keep in mind this is for the mid-years and may not be representative of superseded part #s. I suspect the early or later cars may have differences but hopefully this'll get ya close.

Great compilation. I was going to check WSM before putting my suspension back together, but entirely possible I would have missed this detail and died in a firey wreck.

That's a great effort, Ladybug83 - thanks. On my next 928 purchase, I'll ask if all fasteners were properly renewed! That will be worth a few bucks on the negotiation. I hope I'm not asked about them when I sell. Are their many cases of re-used nuts and bolts backing off?
