Yes, his name is Jens! Then it was you who had contact to him in the past? He showed me the same picture with the registration in Hamburg (HH).
But: I do not want to buy the papers - I have asked him to make a reservation until Andrew has seen his offer. Andrew can contact him directly or I can also help out to get this sorted. He seems to be a nice guy, who owned about ten 928 in the past. The original manual/servicebook with the date of issue, stamps etc. is for me even more interesting.

He didn't share the owners manual or prior registration. So that is new info for me... and new to Andrew, I suspect.
Both pieces are quite valuable in terms of #1 history. I agree with you that the owners manual with the markings and stamping from Porsche are most interesting!
Certainly, this all needs to make its way back to #1.
Now we know when #1 was born (the 10-2-77 date is 1 day from my 2nd birthday)

Well Andrew, you obviously need those without question! Since I know you prefer trading, I could trade you some cash for parts I’m needing for #11 and you could then trade the cash for the owner’s manual and doc. Let me know!😊

Wow, so cool! I'll gladly also "invest" if needed to get this paperwork to Andrew and #1.

This is important documentation, everyone should be a winner in a find like this:
1. Jens for saving the documents all of these years.
2. Andrew for all of his efforts with responsible stewardship of #1 and the promotion of 928's in the Porsche and general automotive communities.
3. #1 becomes whole.
Plus, Drooman's birthday

ok fellas, here is a “money pool” account in PayPal. I have put in my $50 to get it going. Read the description for the details but bottom line is you can donate any amount and it can be anonymous or have your name attached. Hopefully it doesn’t take long. I put the goal at $1200 USD as the asking price is 999 Euros. Hope we get close!!

Well what a day. Actually today is my birthday and yesterday Cheryl took me to the Biltmore hotel in downtown Providence for the weekend. We arrived there yesterday afternoon and I forgot my phone charger, my phone was dead by nightfall. I considered buying another charger but instead took the "opportunity" to unplug from the internet and phone for the weekend; No calls, no emails, no texts, no internet, no rennlist etc until this afternoon when I got home and plugged in. immediately my phone was blowing up about these papers being offered. Thanks to everyone who spotted this and brought it to my attention, and for the incredibly generous offers of chipping in! We'll have to balance any of those contributions out somehow!
I reached out to bernd93 to assist with the transaction. If it is the original Jens who owned the car once, he does not speak english, and I do not speak German, and the german ebay site does not seem to translate for me.
What a crazy journey for car #1.

Amazing that this stuff is still around and could actually find its way back to the car.

This is not an ebay auction, Andrew. These are classifieds in a sort of electronic ebay newspaper only for classifieds. This is without any cost for the seller and ebay offers this in germany. On the other side ebay does not give the buyer any guarantees etc. But this is very common in germany if you want to sell something and avoid the high costs of an ebay auction.
I have send the seller an additional info that you want to buy if he guarantees the originality and asked him about his second name. We will sort out the rest on the phone tomorrow. At least he told me the name of Jim Doerr without being questioned. So he actually seems to be the guy Jim spoke to in the past.

What day is it anyway! Oh, today is the 5th! I'm not used to it being 2020 either...
A good day to donate to help make this great piece of history one step closer to being whole...
Thanks abresca for setting up the link (donation sent).
