I talked about this last night with Ramsey Potts - shown in your picture as the snappy dressing guy with the hat, in the middle top in front of the Brumos 911. Ramsey is in town for the PVGP, and last night was the Walnut Street invitational (Blumaxx was there again, always so happy to get that invite). Ramsey, from RM Auctions, was most impressed with the turnout and enthusiasm for #1 and the event you guys held. The ripples cast by #1 are going very wide and far.

Ed,

Interesting commentary. Ramsey was also there the day # 1 was put on display. He "gets it" that the 928 is a rising, but under appreciated star in the Porsche legacy of fantastic cars...

I had a lengthy conversation with Andrew this past week catching up a bit more and talking of things 928.

During this conversation I told him a few times that IMHO, the 928 Rendezvous event at PEC was a truly remarkable moment for the 928 community. It seemed the 928 was finally recognized by Porsche, and the participants who traveled from near and far with their beautiful 928s to honor the first 928 sold to the public, underscored the importance of this truly remarkable find. Don't know if this type of gathering has happened before for another Porsche highlighted at the PEC, but it must have stood out as one of the best and most enthusiastic gatherings.

In characteristic fashion, Andrew downplayed his role, but it can't be ignored as a pivotal moment for the 928 community around the world.

Of course no one can overlook the hard work by Scott to work with the PEC to get this off the ground. Without his steerage and force behind it, this whole event probably would not have happened. And apologies to those others who helped and whom I did not mention.

Everyone who is a 928 enthusiast should be very proud and those who are thinking about a getting a 928 in their stable, better start looking for your 928 now.

There was a panel discussion at the Scottsdale auctions in January discussing Porsche values. Toward the end I asked a question about 928 GTS values and Ramsey mentioned that it is his favorite Porsche. Here's a link to the video - the question is mentioned around the 1:28:00 mark: https://www.pca.org/news/scottsdale-seminar-2019

Got into some instrument panel fixes the other day. They were hand building most of the interior parts at this time and were apparently keeping track of weights.

2019 was a good year for 928 #1, but this surprised the hell out me. On the last day of the year it got some serious instagram cred from Ray Shaffer, Market Development Manager and Heritage Museum Director at Porsche North America in Atlanta. I can't begin to thank everyone who helped me make this happen but you all know who you are.

Sorry, posted this offer of a previous owner in germany of "your" 928 #1 original registration papers (including all german owners) and manual/service book in the wrong section (928 #2). Here again, Andrew:

https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-...5116-241-19608

I`m not the seller, I have "only" seen this offer and remembered your car. According to the first page of the registration/ownership papers 928#1 had three owners in Germany after the Porsche company registration (first private owner close to Hannover (H), what is about 100km south of Hamburg. Then back to Hamburg with a registration on a company and afterwards one more private owner (could be that this is Jens, the seller of the documents who states to have owned the car until 1983 before export to the USA, and that he had the car registered on his wife`s or mother`s name [because of the last name on the shown first page of a female person born in 1948]). Could also be that on the - not visible - second page inside there are more owners in germany. The license plate number stays with the car and the next owner if he lives also in the previous region of registration (here Hamburg/HH).

Wow! This is just way too cool. Sure looks like the last piece to the ownership puzzle.
Appears Jens W. is trying to sell you a valuable piece to the #1 story. If you look closely, his registration paper is in there too. I believe you have his email contact.
Good luck, Andrew!

Yes, his name is Jens! Then it was you who had contact to him in the past? He showed me the same picture with the registration in Hamburg (HH) that he now added to the description in the offer on ebay.

But: I do not want to buy the papers - I have asked him to make a reservation until Andrew has seen his offer. Andrew can contact him directly or I can also help out to get this sorted. He seems to be a nice guy, who owned about ten 928 in the past. The original manual/servicebook with the date of issue/delivery, stamps etc. is for me even more interesting. But 1000€ is a lot of money...
