Default What is this connector called?

The housing for this connector (circled-right) broke apart in my hand while disconnecting.
I was in the process of changing out my fuel lines.

Thanks everyone!

I think that is the TPS short harness connector.
I'm not sure what year your S3 is, but on my 1986.5, that is routed a little different.
You should be able to buy a replacement connector housing kit from any of the prevalent 928 retailers.

Good Luck!

Yes that is an odd routing. That is also pretty much the typical condition of them if they haven't been replaced...done.

Seth is completely correct. This short harness connector is effectively an extension cord to connect the TPS to the injection harness. The large plenums for the S3 are a pita...

If I recall correctly, the short harness is no longer made and used ones were fairly expensive. I effectively made my own by getting both a male and female connector, new wiring and some heat-shrink.

Also, the pic below is what Seth was talking about the routing. I think the routing for the harness is normally what is shown below. Please ignore the noobie wrapping on some of the wiring. Silicon tape is my new toy and I went a little overboard.

RJN025, I recently purchased a new TPS short harness from Roger for around $70.

Here is how it is routed on mine:

3 way female plug from fuel injector harness plugs into the front of the bracket behind the diagnostic plug. 3 way male plug of the short TPS harness snaps into the bracket, then goes back to the TPS under the organ pipes.

More photos of how the TPS short harness is mounted and connects:

TPS short harness plugs into the TPS on the throttle body at left and routes round to where the bracket would be on the right.

Closer view of TPS on the throttle body.

New TPS short harness.

Looking at your setup, the 3 way female connector from the fuel injector harness LOOKS alright, but the boot is split. Suggest purchasing the repair connector kit and replace the connector and boot. Also suggest just ordering a new short TPS harness. Alternative is ordering a repair kit for that end of the harness.

Either way, quite doable!
