Ed, Not good. If you talk to Greg he will probably replace the flexible section. During installation it is VERY important not to kink the hose.

Rick - it's all about how you tighten the adapter onto the hard line. I did it wrong. It is critical to counter hold the adapter while screwing the hose end onto it.
Every thing else went ok; that line from the fuel cooler was an absolute b!tch to get threaded, but I eventually got it. Anyway, put the old line #8 back on, pressure tested everything with a fuel pump jumper, then fired it up and let it idle a bit more (all in the driveway of course). Double checked and triple checked for leaks, and everything is dry.
I'll replace that front line at some point in the future. It's an easy one to access.
OK experts - did I just ruin a good hose? When tightening, didn't see the kink I created. Is the hose ruined? See pic.
The hose went back to normal once I removed it, but I don't know if it is now fatally compromised.
Sorry, been away from the Internet.
The inner PTFE line is amazingly robust.....and has convolutions to allow it to flex.
Chances are, this kink could be straightened out and be absolutely perfect....
However, Roger is 100% correct! With fuel systems, I don't take any chances.....I've seen enough of these cars burned to last me another entire lifetime.
Replace it. Tell me how to "fix" my instructions, so this doesn't happen, and I'll warranty it.
If OK with Roger, send it directly back to me (save one shipping charge) and I'll send Roger a new one, with the next stuff that gets shipped to him.
Greg, I will do that - I'll send it straight to you, with details on what I did vs. the instructions. All other lines went on perfectly, and they are a fantastic upgrade.
Greg - classy way to stand behind your products and provide great customer support
I agree. Good on 'ya, Greg.
Some of you might remember when we were making new swaged fuel lines too. When our insurance guy found out what we were doing, he had a conniption! That's why we had to drop that product entirely.
So you guys - appreciate the risk Greg is taking for you, and count yourself lucky that you can still get high quality new lines made up.
100% of the "problems" I have with these lines are installation issues. And 100% of these are issues with crimping of the hose during installation. The good part is that 0% of the crimped lines I get back actually leak....the "problem" is purely a visual thing.
I generally choose to replace anything that I make which fails to end up absolutely perfect (in terms of either function or customer expectations), once installed.
