When I picked my car up from Garage928 in Atlanta a few months ago Richard had a "mini meet" at the shop. I remember talking to a guy that noticed my plastic scuttle cover under the windshield was missing and he mentioned that a Rennlist member was making a replacement cover out of a heavier plastic than the flimsy stock unit. Does anyone know what/who Im talking about and how I get in touch with him?

As to the Cowl Cover, there is a thread about them, or maybe two or three, and I make versions for all the 928s and that includes the ones with RHD, since the cowl area in those cars is configured kind of opposite from the LHD that the rest of us drive. They are made of Black ABS Plastic that has what is called a "haircell" finish, which is kind of like very tiny pebbles. It is 1/16 inch thick and forms out to something a little less than that, but which is about twice as thick as the plastic used by the Factory. They come with instructions about installation; and there is a thread here on RL about moving the firewall if one finds that is out of place, which is fairly common.
For LHD cars I make two versions of the Cowl Cover. One version includes the small opening on the driver's end of it where the WS washer bottle resides in the 87 to 91 928s, and the other version does not have that provision. The second version is suitable for all the other 928s, from 78 thru 86 and 92 thru 95.
Two versions also for the RHD cars.
I also provide a replacement bulb seal for the top of the firewall that seals the engine bay air from out of the cowl where the cabin air is taken from.
I also have duplicated the Shell stickers, about 5 or 6 different versions of them, that were stuck onto the Cowl Cover starting in 84. Before that they were stuck on the top of the engine intake airbox. However, one of my sticker versions is made to stick there also. It is slightly smaller that the others.
The Cowl Cover is $90. The Cowl Seal is $15. The shell stickers are $5 each, with the Cowl. The WS washer sticker on the 87 to 91 Cowl Covers (also duplicated) is also $5. The S&H to domestic location is $20. To foreign places is quite a bit more, depending on where it is going; but basically $40 to Canada and $55 to the ROW.
I keep a supply of the Cowl Covers in as-formed condition and roughly trimmed out, but needing final trimming and needing a small doubler glued and trimmed at the bottom edge of the air intake opening, so that usually take me a day or two to get to and accomplish before packaging and mailing.

to the OP:
Redesign by Feather also makes a very nice spare tire cover that is much more sturdy that the original. If your spare tire cover is beat to pieces like most, it would be a good time to order both and possibly save shipping costs. I believe they also come in a couple of different colors.

Early on I made a few of the Spare Tire Covers out of a sheet of White ABS, but not too long ago I still had a blank of white plastic that I formed, but the method I currently use scorched the white plastic to a nice tan color. ABS plastic is more expensive in white and very rare in any other colors.
Yes, I can ship the Spare Tire Cover and the Cowl Cover together by taping the packages together, and the S&H is $25 combined, domestically.

Thanks Jerry......I'll get in touch. I have found the cowl cover is essential especially if you car sits outside at any time with trees around.....the friggin leaves go straight in there all the time and are a bitch to remove plus it looks like crap without it......
