So, I recently saw these in person. One notable difference is they do not have the TDC 'V' notch on the backside of the cam.

That's a pretty big omission - I guess you can transfer the mark from the old gear.

The picture shows the tuning notch, but doesn't show the marks for rotor position (makes machining much, much simplier/cheaper), which is going to mess up a bunch of people assembling.

Are they anodized? Raw aluminum, no matter what alloy, will wear very quickly.

It was a bit unnerving. After being used to stare down the notch in the cam backing plate you really miss the notch.

Used a paint pen to mark TDC and 45 dg before TDC.

To be clear I did not purchase these. A local owner did.

Anodized. I don't have pictures of them on the engine. I will see if the owner took some. They were exactly as pictured on their website.

For that price, they are certainly worth taking a long look at.

After all, it's not rocket science but a very simple gear.

Actually, they are there. They are, however, hard to see, short and cut into the face rather than fat, easy to see and raised from the surface.

Nevertheless... meh.

Default Whose Cam Gears are these?

Anybody know who's making/selling these new gears?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-85-95-P...5Y5AtQ&vxp=mtr

Haven't seen any recent threads on this, didn't Roger have new ones at a good price like this?

Those are the same ones being discussed in this thread, Tom. That is Henry's listing at LAAP.

Sean and I bought some recently and they are very nice. I agree with GB that the unsuspecting amateur DIY 928 mechanic may screw up because the timing marks are missing. You can with care transfer them from the old gear to the rear of the new gear. Fitted to a car so time will tell.
