Default Porken S3 Chips Question For Porken

I have a an 86 5.0L manual Australian delivered car. The manual claims 288HP. To order the Porken chips do you need any specific info on my car?

Cheers
Scott

Hey Scott, you can email Ken directly thru the liftbars.com website. He's traditionally pretty good at getting back to you.
You can also check and see his recommendations prior to installing.
Dave.

http://liftbars.com/

Recommendations:
- Rebuilt MAF (CO 382 ohms)
- New CPS (crank position sensor)
- New TPS (throttle position switch)
- Cam timing: 0° (-2|0 cold, PK32V'r)
- New OEM O2 sensor (not universal)
- Check for vacuum at EZ at idle (17-19"hg) (photo)
- Accelerator cable taut (adjust at firewall under airbox, 13 and 17 mm wrench)
- Automatic: adjust transmission cable until socket drops straight on ball (stock)
- Professionally cleaned stock injectors (24#)
- Bosch WR5DC (7992) (stock WR7DC)
Required:
- MAF screens installed
- 87 S4 FPR, 92811019802/Bosch 0280160262 (photo)
- 88 S4 FPR, 92811019804/Bosch 0280160297 (with hose adapter)
89 octane or higher:
- 89 US/AKI (92 EU/RON)
- 91 octane (95 EU/RON) racing or extended full throttle driving (autobahn, dyno)
- EZ harness plugs (green wires) are for emergency use only for poor quality fuel. Shorts air temp sensor input = hot.
- LH harness plugs (brown wires) enable extra WOT enrichment for hot weather or heavy full throttle driving (autobahn, dyno

Soooooo. This is an interesting question (and Scott I apologize for the hijack).

With my Porken set up in the 86.5, my last Dyno runs were 333 - 350ish hp at crank based on rwhp.
It was a relatively hot day, etc. I did not manipulate harness plugs (ie WOT enrichment).
How much more would one get doing that hypothetically or in real life?

Curious...

And yes, I would like to do this without a Greg v. Ken dust-up, lol.

How does one measure the MAF for CO of 382 ohms, where do the terminals of the voltmeter go ?

Most accurate ( insofar as LH is concerned) is from LH connector, pin 25 and 14 I believe:

You can also check directly at MAF, thanks Jim C for this quote:

"To check the CO-pot resistance, remove the MAF and check the resistance with an ohmmeter, between terminals 3 & 6-- see WSM pg. 24-113 for the pin numbering. "

There are two place it can be done.

1. measured the initial value of the CO adjustment (default is 380 ohms)
Pins 14 (MAF CO) and 25 (ground) on the LH plug.

2. Remove the MAF and directly measure at the mail connector, pins 4 and 6

Edit : see above

Hey, thanks bud. Truth be told, I think I took fire when I posted it, for not being higher.

It's been said that 288 was a pretty conservative figure for the S3 motor leaving the factory, others could speak to that better then I. However, I do think Ken found all the HP that they left on the table.
