My master schedule gave me my assignment for today: make maps for the fun runs.
I've come up with four candidates, 65 to 90 miles. Each will feature an early lunch stop, since departure will be around noon. I'm most accustomed to planning bicyclng routes, so I used a website you might find a little peculiar, but it works.
I’m not fond of the chaos caused by a long train of cars trying to stay together, so I suggest that folks form into smaller groups and head off in different directions, all ending on the front lawn of the Chester Town Hall at exactly the same time, with German precision. Or whatever David Byrne meant in that line in "Heaven", reviewed as "epitomizing pop as Samuel Beckett might write it: tedious, beautiful and desperate". (I'm trying to be like Shawn.)
They're all good routes, but different. I'm not sure about the right distances. There are much longer loops through the Adirondacks, but most of you will have already driven quite a ways to get here.
I'm counting on NYS paving a certain section - headed out now to check...

leak fixed
Got lucky my cam seal leak was not a cam seal leak. The leak was the due the failure of the neoprene seal on the dizzy. I had no idea there was that much pressure there. The leak ran out over the cam cover making the front of the engine an oily mess. We took off the drivers side cover and it was dry and the belt showed no signs of oil on it or the cam gear. It took all of 10 minutes to install a 928 Mototsports lower brace. With all the things going on may not have time to to do the upgrade to the rack mount bushes.

Curt ,
I'm with you a conga line of cars is a PIA to maintain. I am quite familiar with some of the roads in the area. The climb out of Hague is fun and followed by a stretch of long sweeping curves. Almost it was designed 928's

Good news - the state is re-paving Route 8 to the west. Rehabilitation is done, for which they grind up a layer, heat up the millings, mix in some fresh asphalt, and lay it right back down. Not sure when they'll put on the top coat, but it's pretty good already. It was the only rough road left near me. Those coming from the west ought to take Route 365 then Route 8 through Speculator to get here.
The 928 Owners Club is really helping out. They sent me a new banner - they'll be giving the regular gatherings their own. Camp 928 is not yet regular - they must be optimistic.
Current projection: 34 cars. That includes your car, Paul, with or without steering rack bushings.
Shirts are at the embroidery place. Stickers are in transit - we fly both flags around here, bienvenue, and Go Penguins! A surprise piece is in transit. I'm managing my procrastination about the general cleanup. The black flies are here, on schedule, but should be mostly gone in three weeks. And I'm preparing a nice pad for Sonny's big RV. It might be useful for a 28x40-foot garage later....

Hi Curt, you've covered the black flies but how are the mosquitoes ? If they are as bad as they are here, camping and sitting around fire will not be much fun ;-)

Tony, I'm heading up Thursday to play golf with a buddy in Albany. I should be able to meet up with you in Saratoga for lunch. I used to live there. Some other restaurants you may want to consider is Druthers Brewing Co. at 381 Broadway, or world famous fried chicken at Hattie's Chicken Shack at 45 Phila St.
