Default Anybody Managing the 928 OC Site?

There's a link in the FAQ to doing the PSD flush, however that link is now dead at 928 OC:

Can it be fixed?

Sorry. Thought you were looking for the data not just trying to fix the broken link.

Maybe Rennlist can fix the members.rennlist.org links, too...

Hi Randy,
There is someone managing the site... and it's me!

We moved the site to a new framework (Joomla) about two years ago and had to re-create the link structure and move the data. In the process that link was broken, but I added the info to the OC Forum and redirected the original link on our site a few minutes ago, so the link is now restored. Will need to go thru a quick site registration process to see and download the PDF.

Thanks for pointing this out; while RL is a superb site for sharing info and research, I think the OC's website can fill a need for our community as a robust, permanent repository for this kind of info.

Thanks, Bill - but now when I click that link it indicates I 'don't have permission to access that area'.

Previously, the knowledge base was available to the public.

If you register (which is free), you can see the link. This was a quick restore that put it in a Sub-Forum that requires registration. I agree it should be public, but need to pass it by the Board for their thoughts; different sub-forum, change this one to public, or move it to an existing sub-forum. I'll post here when/if any change is made.

Be great to find a Volunteer to be Technical Editor for the site.... (hint).

Well it needs to be made public, otherwise there's still no fix to the original issue.

Not to play on the OC woes, but I went on there a few weeks ago (granted it has been months prior) and it wanted me to log in, but said something along the lines that I was not registered. I never got a membership renewal email, and no email about having to re-register, so I just gave up. Do we need to register again? Never seems to work right for me. Not feeling loved by the OC.

Some parts of the site are public, some require a free registration which is permanent until you forget your username and password after which you contact us and we fix it for you. Other parts of the site require OC membership.

If you PM me with your username, I will fix it for you.

As Bill said, it's publicly available to free registered users of the site and paid members of the OC. I can't speak for the whole board, but I share your opinion that it should remain publicly available.

The original issue problem is really due to the inability to edit the FAQ thread here on Rennlist, not with the OC website. The OC site migrated two years ago to a much more functional and informative platform, thanks to countless hours of volunteer work by Bill, Derrick Bass, and others. The club's 928 Registry has grown from approximately 1,800 entries to the current level approaching 3,200. This progress on the OC's separate website shouldn't be inhibited or disparaged because the FAQ link can't be updated here on Rennlist.

As always, it's easier for us to respond if you contact us directly. Please feel free to do so - I strive to provide same day answers and if I can't help, I'll find someone who can. Thanks!
