Don't forget the air channels. Radiators are a water/air heat exchange method. If you have the rad out, blow compressed air from the back side, to the front and you'll be amazed how much of those little pebbles will come out. You can also use pressurized water from the back to the front, but be careful about the amount of pressure used. I have a pressure washer that is adjustable, and I set it down to a lower pressure point, and keep the nozzle back far enough so I don't bend the fins. You can flush out a lot of crud from the air channels with patience.
Thanks Alex. I love this color. Right up there with petrol blue and light green IMO. From what I have read the cork pinstripe material is NLA so will have to do something different for the interior. Maybe the brown pinstripe or brown/cream pasha. Plenty of time to decide since I am not even close to putting the engine back together (water bridge woes), then there is the clutch to address, then brake pads and hoses, and the '86 dual exhaust that I bought.....

No worries about the water bridge woes and to-do's. They seem infinite with the 928 but they're not. Enjoy the process when you can and pick them off one-by-one.
Also, the '86 dual each as nice as it may be is too much for the 4.5L
Consider sourcing a single pipe system.
^ too late Jim. Already have the manifolds and the rest is on a Greyhound somewhere between Oklahoma and Arizona. Wanted to replace the ANSA with the proper pumpkin and tip. Somewhere along the way my car picked up a dual cat Y pipe that could probably anchor a cruise liner so wanted to shed some weight also. Will there not be enough back pressure with the dual pipes?
^^^
Re backpressure, possibly yes. Certainly it's more pipe diameter.
It was designed for the 300hp 4.7L. But was it also used for the lower HP 4.7 in the same config later on?
The difference may be negligible. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in on this.
