Default Looking For: Fuel Injectors 0280150558 (EV1 42LB)

I've been trying to locate a full set of the older style fat body 42LB injectors with the 4 hole disc. Any that I've found are stupid expensive, and I'm not about to buy the Chinese knock-offs. I was hoping that maybe someone had picked up a set back a few years ago (when they were plentiful) and didn't use them. If anyone has some they're interested in selling or doing some horse trading for, or knows where I might find some, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Chris, You might also try searching under the Ford Motorsports part#: M-9593-F302 (hard to find also).

There are 42# skinny-bodies on eBay, 0280155968, would those work? (A few of them even say "Genuine Bosch" ).

A lot of the new injectors I see now are a Design III with an EV6 connection. I suppose you can get the EV6 to work if you find the right adapters. Take extra special notice to the top of the injector and make sure there is a recess cut into it to accommodate the infamous injector clips that secure them into the fuel rail.

Thanks Jim. Yeah I've been searching under the Ford p/n as well. Just not much out there in the fat body other than Chinese junk. Unfortunately for my application the EV6 won't work. The plug is still an EV1, but the body is the skinny one. It won't work with the Pizza Fuel Injector Bushings. A couple of my Ford buddies have mentioned that the Lightening uses the 42 lb injectors, but that's not what I'm finding unfortunately. Thanks for the input guys.

Hi Chris, I discovered the same thing, had some all plastic Bosch "skinny" 4 holes and was going to use them and found they won't work with Pizza box SC manifold adapters.

My searches have found the same, also please test any injector that has been sitting for awhile for leaks and sticking.
I found 4 of 8 that I had previously tested and marked all good, now won't open after two years on the shelf in a plastic bag

Thanks Ray. Yeah I saw those but I'm hesitant because some of the info I've seen says to watch out for the ones with 2 slots for the keepers. Supposedly real original units only have one slot, and the Chinese knockoffs have two.

I may wind up trying a set of the Chinese though. Most of them have a single pintle, but one vendor shows pics of the 4 hole disc on theirs, and claim that you get exactly what's pictured. From the info I've seen they supposedly work pretty good up to about 60+ psi, then they're spotty at best. Around 45-55 psi they had a very nice spray pattern, as well as volume as compared to the "real" injector.

Thanks for the tip Dave. I wouldn't have even thought of that if you hadn't said something.

OK, these just came up on Ebay. I'm gonna see who they're actually manufactured by and hopefully buy them. These are the first ones I've seen in a long time that appear to be legit, and not $100 each!

I went to their website, and it looks promising. I've send them an email regarding manufacturing origin, as well as asking if they're 4 hole disc or single pintle. We'll see. Depending on their answers I hope to buy these.

Has anyone heard of this outfit before?

Ok I received a response from the guy at Smartfire Injectors. They are the 4 hole style, and they're manufactured in Germany! Yeah baby!! I'm definitely getting a set. Thanks again for all the replies.

I was trying to find the source in Orange County I used for LH ecu rebuilds, they have injectors (all fuel injection components at good rates) also available. Looks like you are covered though.

Well Alex, if you can find the name I'd appreciate it. Smart Fire Injectors turned out to be a bust. I had problem ordering a set (luckily). While I was trying to work it out, I did a little research which I should have done first. Duh! Word everywhere out there on the various car forums is to "STAY AWAY FROM SMART FIRE INJECTORS!!". Major quality issues, as well as return problems with the vendor. Guy told me these were high quality "made in Germany" injectors, but everyone says they're Chinese junk that worse than most of the Chinese junk out there. Injectors that are locked up, don't actually have the proper flow rate, and worst off, leaking and causing hydro locking of the engine!

So, I'm back to square one. At least I found out first before buying them and having a nightmare.

OK, let me get back to it this am and see if I can find the location. It's been a while but I stumbled across them years ago when I was having a bunch of things done to my 87. They were really nice folks to work with also.

Back in a bit... (time difference central to pacific, have to make a few calls later)
