Question engine removal need help

Next week i will take out the engine from my car , i bought an engine rack (1500lbs capacity) with steel wheels and the turning bracket to turn the engine on itself.
What i need to know is from where am i gonna fix the bracket to the engine ?
from the ring gear ? or after removal of the ring gear or is the coupling of the torque tube strong enough for that ?

The bracket mounts to bolt-holes for the bell housing. Be aware that the engine is really top heavy and will flip over if given a chance.

AM,
Homedepot or sears sells degreaser by the gallon. Works great in full strength or cut 50% with water. bio-degradable too...

Commercial degreaser, like toofast928 describes, works well. As the block is aluminum, washing it down with water is not a problem at all.

Sometimes I'll make some home-brew stuff with 2 parts paint thinner, one part laundry detergent and one part water. Rinse that with water.

After things are cleaned, the first time, I'll dry them and then use straight paint thinner or, often, lacquer thinner. Just wiping it with a dampened rag gets that last bit of oil off.

If you get an off the shelf cleaner, Simple Green works fairly well but avaoid Castrols Purple stuff as it's caustic and will leave aluminum with a chalky residue.

What I do, is use plain old engine degreaser but wash it off w/a pressure washer.

As far as I know, store bought aerosol engine degreaser has no ill effects on aluminum but the fumes are brutal. Not - user friendly.

If you know someone who has a heated P/W, even better.

A former friend had a 220 BTU PW and it cut through grease and oil like nothing else.
