Another solution: I'm in MA and have an 85 euro roller with MA title you can have for $650. Swap everything over. Straight and rust-free.

I like the red roller swap idea as a long term solution. Not sure if the sawsall idea can work as a short term solution if the suspension points (and probably control arms) are bent. If you think the sawsall idea can work, and you actually wanted to make a cabriolet, you could fly out to hawaii and take detailed measurements off mine. None of the parts would be that hard to copy. Can you post some pics of the suspension points and any bending going on down there?

My '82 car was hit in the rear at some point in its life, and it has a mismatched rear quarter and door as a result. Fabbing in a new quarter seems easier than swapping everything into the roller.

The damage on his car goes well into the floor, possibly into the rear seat area. If it were just quarter panel damage, I'd suggest replacing. I had to do some structural repair on mine. It's not fun or easy. I'd much rather swap running gear than take on a structural repair job.

You can take off the rear quarters and roof and c pillars and just leave the gas tank area and rails there.
Remove front fenders and. Under but leave bumper bars.
that rear set of rails that come out from where the shock towers are are probably very kinked.
