Default Clear and Smoked Lenses now In Stock. Lower Price, Too

Not to long ago I posted I had a few pieces left of some clear and smoked turn signals and side marker lights, and I was just blowing them out. At the time, I had lost my supply stream and could not get more.

Well, as luck would have it - of course the maker emailed me after I posted and offered to make us more. And now, because we are buying direct, I have been able to lower the prices as well.

There are three types we now stock, I will put up a separate post for each below.

Very nice and at a good price.

Do you stock/sell the gaskets for these?

The fronts are readily available for earlier models (~$9, P/N 928-631-448-00), but the rear ones aren't readily available. Would love to get my hands on a couple of 'em if Carl is selling them separately.

Glad Carl connected with the vendor. These were the most popular products at the time I had my store.

There is only one part number because front and rear require the same size.

The Genuine Porsche seals used to be quite expensive (high 20ies for a pair), which is why I included my own foam seals with the side markers and side flashers. With the clear lights I included light grey seals; with the smoked I included black.

For a while I also offered the seals as a separate product, but after I got verbally attacked a few times on the 944 boards, I decided not to waste my time making and selling them.

We do sell the front side marker lights separately.

What do you want gaskets for?

Turn signal lenses: The gasket for the turn signal lenses keeps water out of the bulb area. I do not include the gasket - please re-use the gasket you have. You can also add a little RTV sealant to seal the lens to the lamp to help keep water out.

Side Marker Lenses: We provide the complete side marker lamp assembly, and the lens is sealed to the bulb carrier. Water cannot get in. There is a little foam "gasket" that is between the lamp and the paint, but it does nothing. I have some left-over foam ribbon I can provide if you want to try to make a gasket, but it would be simpler to just re-use the one you have, or instal;l with a dab of clear RTV around it if you feel you must.

From Nicole:

We agree, and that is why we are not including gaskets when a dab of RTV is cheaper and will do a better job. Those little foam gaskets were so delicate - they tore during installation way too often.

Roger stocks them. IIRC for $400 for the pair. Much less than the $700 ea that the Porsche units cost.

If someone want's to upgrade bulbs to leds at same time, here is good instructions of how to defeat bulb control module. Bulbs needs to be anyway replaced to yellow or red depending of usage.
I like the smoked side marker lenses in my Silver Metallic S4

Thanks, Simos, glad you posted that.

It's my information that the side marker lights do not go through the control module, so switching them to LED is not problematic. Only the Turn Signal lights are. Do you agree?
