Default Slime (tm) flat fix.

Had anyone used this product with good results?

I have one tire that refuses to be plugged by conventional means. I lose about 20lbs a day. Which is actually more than before i had it 'fixed.' I plan to replace them all next spring, but i still drive all year round and they are still good for another 5-6k miles. How much of a mess does this stuff make for the poor tire guy who will have to replace it? Also how does slime affect wheel balance?

And advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Cool

Tire guys have told me to patch all leaks from the inside with a wide patch. They say that a plug can allow air to get between belts.

Hello All,

I used to carry a bottle of "SLIME" (tm) with me in my fanny pack when mountain biking through the trails of Vermont, Western MA, and upstate NY. I found it to be a pretty decent product especially on the trail when you're in an hurry. However, once back home, I either repaired my inner tubes with a "patch" or replaced them altogether. Riddle me this...does anyone actually use the green goo in their auto tires? I've heard of the fix-a-flat stuff...for autos but that's about it. I haven't used "plugs" to repair flats on auto tires for years...have them patched instead.

Thanks...
Tim
