Default Direct Power Headlights... now driving lights won't switch from high beams

This past summer, I modified the headlights to use direct-power to ensure the car's load doesn't affect brightness. Here is the thread detailing that procedure. That's been working great, however I've recently noticed that the driving lights don't like to switch from high beam back to fog lights.

I'll toggle the high-beam stalk to switch them on, and the driving lights high-beams will also kick on. When I go back to low-beams, the high beam driving lights will stay on, and not go back to fog lights.

I'll have to manually hit the fog light button to turn them off, then hit it again to get the fog lights. Could this be an issue at the headlight relay I added? Has anyone else experienced this with direct-power headlights?

Certainly sounds like a relay issue. I installed an aftermarket wiring harness in s car to support higher wattage headlight bulbs and it had a similar issue where it was bleeding current. With the low beams on, the high beam dash indicator light would glow slightly and when I'd toggle the high beams, they wouldn't turn back to low beams without turning off the headlight switch and back on. The relay was getting current preventing it from picking properly.
