The Black/Blue wires channel illumination to pod backlighting, pod switches, and center console illumination. They originate off the dimmer rheostat. There are two spades each with a Black/Blue - one for the pod and one for center console bulbs. I'd start the hunt at the rheostat.

if the dimmer potentiometer is original then its probably failed due to corrosion,
you can try to rehab it by adding deoxit 100 to the swaged rivets,
then take a punch and with a v on the end and tap the rivets to bend them tighter ,
this may restore the part.
Otherwise buy a new dimmer

As Stan states, you can remove the dimmer rheostat and 'service' it up. I did that to mine with a small fine rasp and Deoxit. Only had to do it a again two years later. I thought about it and said to myself, 'when did I ever use the dimming function' ? You can simply bypass the rheostat by connecting the Black/Blue wires to the Black wire which is current into the rheostat thereby eliminating any resistance it may give to the circuit.

Nah, you shouldn't have touched it. After you fix the lights and put it back together the speedo will not work. After that it will be the digital readouts or something else. You shouldn't have touched it.
Do a search, you'll see. There must be a spirit living behind that dash that does not want to be disturbed.. In mine too.

Ok, I will go take my meds and lie down a bit.

I previously bypassed the dimmer switch because I wanted to see if the dimmer needed work or if the elements needed re done.

Nothing else was disturbed.

Did you check the fuse for that circuit?
