Default Intake refresh and now wont run...FIXED!!!! New Video for comments added.

Need to see if anyone has any ideas...here is what has been done:

New plugs, wires, rotor and distributor
New fuel lines
Injectors have been cleaned and rebuilt
New vacuum lines
New Brake Master
New water bridge seals
New thermostat and seal

So it sounds like an air/fuel issue to me (not electrical/spark - or else it would not run).

I know the idle speed screw is misadjusted - not sure where to start with that.

In the video, first attempt is no pedal at all. Second attempt I am flooring the gas pedal for most of the running and as I slowly let off the engine dies...Thoughts?

Thanks all -

scott

Scott have you verified that you have good fuel pressure to the engine/injectors? I'd definitely put a test gauge on there to make sure.

Default Have not....

...but of course assuming. Save for a miss on one cylinder, everything was running pretty well.

Default Continued

fussing at my son and hit the button. I was assuming none of that would have changed as I only disconnected and reconnected the lines.

But I will get a gauge and check.

Are you sure the ignition leads have been assigned correctly?

Scott, it may be because the rpm's are so low, but to my not-very-well-trained ear, you're not hitting on all eight cylinders.

There could have possibly been something further aft in the fuel system that became dislodged during all the work that is blocking the fuel feed somehow? I'm just tossing out theories.

If it's not hitting on all 8 you should be able to hit the exhaust manifolds with a laser thermometer and see which ones are cold. Not easy to do from under the car, but...

Good luck brother. I know it's frustrating.

Default Grounds et al

Thanks all!

i cleaned the CE panel and all the grounds before taking the intake apart...would not think that would be it.

I have checked ignition leads (several times)...but will recheck. I agree with Seth and Chris though - we are not firing on all 8 right now.

I am am going after a noid to check signal on injectors and then need to check the exhaust temps. Hoping I did not mess up the fuel injectors when I rebuilt them.

will keep everyone updated!

Did you rebuild the injectors? If you didn't when were they done and how long before you installed them?
Very quickly they will oxidize inside within a week after being cleaned

You are close! I bet the problem is some simple stupid thing. Did you finger-tighten any ground bolts and forget to follow up?
If that was a cold start the idle RPM sounds way too low.

What shape is your battery ground strap in? It could be corroded enough under the sheathing to cause electrical related ignition problems.

This is interesting - with all of my bolt removal issues, the injectors sat out for several weeks waiting to be reinstalled.

I did rebuild them myself...

Default Injectors

replaced large and small seals, replaced pintle caps, and cleaned them in ultrasonic cleaner while broken down.
