Default The most unigue one-of-a-kind factory 928 ever...?

heinrich just replied to my other thread, 'South African Porsches', that reminded me of a SA shark that is very, very unique...

The guy who owns this rare 928 is Bruce Joelsen, the (used to be) boss of Elna sewing machines in SA. This 928 could prolly be the most unique 928 in the world. It's a one of a kind widebody produced by the factory. I saw a magazine article a few years ago and I saw the car in the flesh at a local concourse with a authentication letter from Porsche stating that the car was / is indeed a one of a kind Porsche Factory creation. At the time I didn't realize the significance of this car.

Bruce Joelsen is still alive and well, racing a GT2 in SA nowadays. Lemme see if I can get you more info and maybe some pics of the car I'm talking about...

I think we should send Adam and Tom on a trip to SA where they could hook up with Pierre and do an article on this one of a kind Factory 928 for the 928 Forum!

Okay, I managed to get hold of Bruce Joelsen's phone number. I'll call him on Monday to see if I can get pics and a story.

Hi Shane!

Not even a question here, Heinrich would probably be the man to take the long distance trip. SA is his stomping grounds. I know if I were to touch down in Johannesburg (sp?) , I would probably end up in Madagascar before realizing that I had made a wrong turn somewhere.

This sounds like an incredible car. The magazine would definitely be interested in doing an article.

I read this the first time and was somewhat irritated that there were no pictures, okay I'll get over it. To see this thread come up again and with no pictures still, shame on you. That's pure torture, unadulterated torture.

Yeah it is...and documented to boot!

This guy offers probabbly the greatest variety of body kits style for the 928. I bet one could probably mix and match and come up with a similar looking car.

http://www.jacquemond.com/928.htm

I like the E-style personally.

Samuel,
Thanks for the links to Bruce Joelson's factory one-off 928GTE...quite nice and the letter from the factory helps protect his investment.
Cheers,
Tim
