Ewwww! My foam fell off long ago in lots of pieces, and IMHO they are awful! Replcaed with one of Jerry's covers.

Hi T, your request is confusing. Are you looking for a later ribbed plastic one (~80->) or the one you have pictured - an early fibreboard one (78-79~)?

Hi Jim, Looking for correct unit for MY79....in fiberboard/foam. Was not aware the ribbed plastic started in MY80. Edited out of OP. TY T

The original cover from my 78 is in two nice size pieces. I'm hoping it will glue / epoxy together.

It's the fiberboard / wood style.

Good deal. Hope they pack it well. These things are fragile. Isn't there two varieties? One with the latch on the cover and one with the latch on the car?

Guy, Agree with you an rarely see one that's not broken. Seller stated on his eBay ad: I WILL PACK ITEM(S) CAREFULLY FOR SHIPMENT. Not sure on how many types there are but IIRC have seen some early ones with straps. Found a later style unit below while searching. $ 1999.99 + $ 199.00 shipping...Ouch! http://www.ebay.com/itm/PORSCHE-928-...hSsLLx&vxp=mtr T

IIRC, Rob Budd has a "correct" vinyl-faced grey foam for these covers. On my shopping list soon, as the edges of my original sapre-wheel cover foam are crumbling. After seeing how a few have shown off their pristine perfectly detailed spare-wheel wells, I guess that's gonna be another area to fuss over on my car.
