Default S300 Chips for S4 and GT cars no longer on Porken's page

I have been absent for a while due to recent life events. Getting back into the 928 realm again, I noticed Ke. Has removed the text for his S300 chips for S4 and GT cars off his site.

Are these chips out of production or is Porken doing a little house cleaning as well as updated versions?

To be more clear, Ken also had S4 dyno images and a version number (2.0).

Bump

I'm interested to know what happened as well.

Saw a few for sale, did they not pan out?

The removal is part of an accord brokered with Greg by the U.N.

Ask Porken (I'm not allowed to call him Ken anymore).

Just send an email to Ken - info@liftbars.com
He will be the only one to give you a specific answer.

Not enough demand and too much variability in aftermarket 24# injectors. Unlike the S3's, the factory program is pretty good - increased driveability doesn't sell. Once I ran out of EPROMs I decided it was not worth the time to support them. (Two years of work and I'm still fielding emails about how to install and set up used chipsets...for free. )

The S4 is limited by its intake (and exhaust manifolds, ignition system, factory brains?) to around 300 rwhp for a manual (S3s are a little higher). The EZK self-tuning code I wrote was pretty cool but it didn't make any more HP.

I never had a GT chip (those S3 cams would require a total rework ).

It looks like Jason still has his S300 chips for sale from his totalled S4 if anyone still wants a set.

Glad to hear that as I have installed chips in my 85'. I don't have x pipe yet. Minor improvement so far but hoping for the real payoff with pipe. For people contemplating this I will say that after I replaced fuel pressure regulator my other two dampers "blew out" I suppose from higher pressure? Idk, but you may want to factor in three new regulator/dampers into the cost. Yes they are maintenance parts I suppose but wasn't planning on replacing two dampers after buying regulator. Just my experience could have been coincidental.

It would be interesting to know what exactly is the most binding constraint in the S4 engine at that 300 rwhp point.

Have you (or anyone else) ever installed the S4 control systems, including knock sensors, on an S3?

I've thought about it. I think the S3 would be a winner with better brain(s), either S4- or aftermarket.

The easiest S4- conversion would be an auto. Just need a S4 flywheel and right rear cam cover (hall sensor). One knock sensor fits in the front. I reckon the rear sensor could be fitted pretty easily with a modified or custom MAF/TB housing.
