Default pelican member introduction

Hello!
I am a long time lurker here on rennlist and have learned a lot from the collective here. I came into a 87 928 and was made aware the 928 forum on pelican was pretty sparse. Here I am.

Welcome. I too was a long-long-long lurker. The 928 contingent here is more than helpful. I purchased a 16 valve car 3 years ago and have not had to take the car anywhere. I was fortunate to have purchased a car with a ton of receipts, so the faithful here have guided me through the few problems that I have encountered. Read the sticky on top. Ask questions. Enjoy. BTW. Sweet ride. I am really not too much of a black fan, but that is car is nice with the chrome manholes.

Beautiful looking ride, congratulations, and welcome to Rennlist.

Love black, especially to look at...but keeping it clean and shiny...that's a whole different story...my arms get sore just thinking about it....lol.

Nice car! '87 S4s are sweet. Black over black looks best on S4s I think.

Thanks for the compliments. I was looking for a well sorted S-4 for a year or so, I happened to find one just a little north of San Diego. The original owner did not have it long ( less than a year). Second owner kept it until Aug-2015, all maintenance receipts, most of them from Brewster Porsche. third owner had it for about 5 months and decided he wanted a project. Didn't get a great deal on it but I am happy with what I got. I did have to go through and correct some electrical issues now everything works as it should. I didn't mind paying a little more because there is no missing hardware anywhere and the paint is flawless / original.

Welcome to the Shark Tank.

As was noted, you've found a group of wingnuts who know and love these cars like nobody else.
And are willing to share that knowledge with anyone who asks nicely.

Gorgeous car. It even has the jump post cover (kinda inside joke around here).

Beautiful car. Welcome aboard.

BTW, I spent a tiny bit of time at both North Island, and Miramar as a Jarhead, back around 1983/4. Also a few months at Pendleton.

Very very nice 928. I love black on black, unless I'm the one washing and waxing it.

I thought as much, based on your address. Not a lot of Army in that part of the country.
