So basically he's looking for free mechanic time to put his car together - but calling it a 'tech session'?

Here in DFW we call that "helping a Brother out".

I will try and make the schedule that you set up Sterling.

Randy V - That's called "Being a Texan" and nobody does it better than DFW 928 Owners!

Sterling - You know I can't wrench but I can clean!

And here we have the reason few people in SoCal see each other other than when they are sitting in a lawn chair next to a shined up 928 that is already put together.

Unless you go to Rob's house. Then you can work on cars.

I'm all for helping out, but putting an entire car back together - not so much. And that's pretty much the only reason we would be going to Brendan's house.

I think this guy has been watching too much TV on Velocity such as Overhaulin and Garage Squad, where they take a guy's failed project and complete it for him. They usually finish it in a week or two or sometimes three, but even though they usually show only two or three guys working on it at any given time at the end there are about 20 guys in the A Team that show up for the presentation. And, they have a big shop with lifts and all kinds of tools and equipment to get the various phases of the car done. Here, this doesn't even look like only putting a 928 back together but there looks like a complete conversion of the gear box to the Corvette box and drive shaft. I wonder just what all is required in that conversion. I think Tony 77 had that done with his car and I don't think it was done in an afternoon or in a small garage. I doubt that this guy has much of anything ready to "wrench" the Z06 into his 928.

I too am all for helping out a brother, but I think Randy has a good point. I think the better approach to this project is to help him get the car rolling on 4 wheels and then package the rest of it up in some way and move it to storage until the dust settles on his house mortgage issues, or he gets a job and can pay to get the rest of this done.

Jerry,

Please Google 928SG.com.

"This guy" might just know a little bit about what it takes to put a 928 together. "This guy" has fallen on some difficult times. That doesn't mean he doesn't need or deserve our help. If we just get his car rolling, then that's as far as we get. It is what it is.

Just out of respect for Sterling, I'd come and help, if I was closer.

First post says he needs to install the front and rear suspension; so I guess he took just about the entire drive train, running gear and suspension out of it and took the engine substantiually apart.
