New or used? If used, as likely, what's the condition?

GT LSA about 110, S3 LSA about 114. Identical lobe profiles.

Well I have a GTS and a set of S3 cams. I will be doing a complete intake refresh in the near future and I take it putting in S3 cams is a really good idea?

I have a GT also with some pitting on the cams. Where is the best place to have the GT cams reconditioned along with getting the one S3 cam worked to fit in the GTS?

Sorry for the hijack. Thanks

So does that mean the S3 cams work better in the higher rpm range?

One presumes Porsche reduced the LSA on later models because they had the flappy to supplement the lower end torque- true or false?

I don't know. You might want to inquire from Jim Corenman or Porken who have experimented with various cams and cam timings.

Although I don't know, I speculate that the tighter LSA and thus higher overlap of the GT cams (1) requires a slightly higher idle speed, (2) makes more torque in the 1500-5000 rpm range, and (3) makes the same or slightly less power near redline rpm compared to S3 cams modified for the S4 engine. In general, if idle and emissions wouldn't be a consideration, my speculation is that the tighter LSAs would make these cars a bit faster. It's important to keep in mind that this is just speculation.

I don't think it's so much about the intake manifold flappy, but it might be about the S4 intake runners being shorter and somewhat larger diameter than S3 runners.

In terms of the Karma factor, I think that these original GT cams would probably be best used to restore a GT that has cam trouble.

I have S3 (special Jim Morton Elgin cams) cams in my GTS and the power difference was amazing. I would have used GT cams if I could of found some prior to talking to Jim Morton.
The cams in the stock GTS are so bad that even fitting S4 stock cams will increase the power.
With the cams, 24Lb injectors, larger throttle body and a Shark Tune by Colin Jensan I feel I gained at least 60RWHP - the car came alive!!!!
