Mark....might want to post some before and after dyno results and show how the gains exceed the dyno tolerances.
On a 220 rwhp cis 928, I get a range of 197-103 on three back to back runs.
Also, might want to add the dyno process that you follow for the before and after gains.
I think that will help answer questions forlks might have.
Maybe see you this weekend.
Regards,
Marc

Thats more than I got as a variable with all the 2 valve AFM style engine, dyno testing, and we did quite a bit!!. remember, you are too used to the varible runs on an S4. (and CIS is not as repeatable for some reason as the AFM versions) even we have seen this type of range dynoing an S4, but when you have significant changes made after several close runs, all within the same time period. you are on to something. . one thing the 84s and older were good for, is very repeatable dyno runs. Usually, we do 3 runs all in a row. when that basline is mirror of eachother, not varying more than 1-2 hp a run, then we do the mod. 3 more runs, and then remove the mod and do 3 more runs.
NEVER does the shape of the curve change . addind spark advance we got 3 ft lbs of torque and lost 3 HP. puting it back , it went back. The eRAM not only change the shape of the curve, it also increased the HP significantly. (very measureable) We can do one thing with that mod that you cant do with others,,,,,, we can turn the eRAM off and remove it mid run, and it shows the gains and losses immediately.
Again we saw varible HP runs with the Holbert car. but remember, we put on the cone filter, directly on the MAF and we lost 7hp. put the air box back on and gained it back. did 3 more runs and backed it up.
Hope that helps.
Are you coming out this weekend?? should be a great time if the Holbert cam sprocket holds together for one more race!!

Electric "supercharger" for your 928, gotta love eBay
I've always wanted to put a blower on a car, now here's my chance:

Appears that someone is trying to find an outlet for their surplus heater blower motors. I'm not an engineer but it appears likely the squirrel cage would would cause more restriction at WOT. It is also set up to pull in hot air from the radiator.

Well, I've been here on Rennlist for almost a year and hadn't seen it yet, so I guess I have to reach way deep in my bag and say "Excuuuuuuuuuuuuse me!"

Think Erik may be confusing this with the E-Ram threads but don't tell Mark K. BTW I am looking to route my intake though my heater vent to see if I can get another 40 HP.

Dennis, This is the third time I've seen it in the past few months. I think the number of reposts is getting to be as funny as the ebay ad. I wonder how many the guy has sold.

not to start a massive discussion, but we have seen consistant gains of 7-10hp at the rear wheels with the eRAM. remember, we are talking a 60amp, 1000 CFM blower at 26,500rpm!!!!!(axial flow) and not these Heater fan blowers (that someone already mentioned here) that use less than 10amps and very paltry air flow. the eRAM puts out 3.5lbs of thrust, and out of a 3.5" diameter, its net change in intake pressure is right around 1psi. thats 5% folks, and that density matched with fuel gives proportional gains. sure the HECK is a lot better than trying to cool intake air flow, or ram air, and many have spent a great deal more than $299 to do that and get a Heck of a lot less!! remember at 160mph, the max pressure you can hope for is .36 psi, and thats only 1/3rd of what the eRAM does at the stop light!
Ok , off the soap box
by the way, we are still waiting to see the effects on the 4.5 liter engines, where we got 10ftlbs of torque gain, before we ran into high rpm electrical and fuel issues. (dyno was posted last year).
as a side note, we have removed 100s of ebayers selling the boat engine bay blowers, but unfortunately, we cant do anything about the guys selling these Fasco motored powered heater fans that are in the 50watt range, and not the 750+ watt range of the eRAM.

Your heater idea reminds me of the time a friend in high-school was trying to route his A/C compressor into his intake.

Mark,
I have seen your data on the E Ram and it is impressive and well engineered. Not so on the heater blower motor. Concerning the issues on the 4.5L, is that due to the air sensor plate of the CIS?
Erik,
Was his objective to provide cooler air for the intake?
