Default My 928 saved my daughter today!!!

Today my 19 year old baby girl was stopped turning left onto my parents street when an elderly woman struck her from behind. K my daughter was stopped, signalled ,etc correctly when this woman hit her . She was travelling at 45-55mph and never saw my daughter. No brakes or attempt to slow. The 2008 subaru is toast... , my 1986 928 is done... but it's amazing what it absorbed!!!! The entire rear is pushed in, the driver side door won't open, and the battery is cracked and leaking. The spare tire box and battery absorbed most of the impact. If you don't have a factory spare in your car, it's my strong opinion and advice to get one! I'll follow up with pics when I can. The Subaru looks like death, the 928 just got driven into the garage(with metal on tire noises and stuff) . I'm thankful that my little girl was in the 928 and not her 2006 Toyota Corolla.

Dodged a bullet there -- more like a bulletproof vest, I suppose. Good show, hope insurance comes through for you on that car.

Texting strikes again(hitter, not hittee).

Sorry about the car, glad your kid is well. Have her checked out by a doc anyway just to make sure.

Glad to hear she is ok, these cars are built like a brick $hithouse and perform amazingly in an accident.

We fall in love with our cars and dread the thought of accidents. But when things like this happen you realize it's just a hunk of metal and thank goodness it's a well designed one! Great to hear your daughter is safe! Best of luck, and hope you can resurrect some of those go fast and stop fast pieces on the next one!

Jase.

Thanks everyone, I still find myself a little teary. I was so scared when I got the call! Your kids are SO important and that feeling of helplessness is gutwrenching. I've never felt more weak and vulnerable. The police and emergency responders were very generous and kind, I could tell some are fathers!. The other driver was unhurt but very shaken. I wouldn't be suprised if she went to he hospital later. She never saw the 928 at all.... I have a great looking parts car in my garage though!

I lost my 87 S4, the same way. Hit by a Suburban at 50 mph, and was able to drive my car home. Both were totaled, mine had a bent frame. Glad you're girl is OK.
